  • Springfield, MA
  • $200,000 annual salary
  • Day-one health benefits

Springfield students continue to be limited by a system that prevents you from upholding the standards they need to succeed.

Alpha is opening a new campus in this city and requires a leader who is already familiar with Springfield's educational environment. You will lead a team of 15+ Guides who coach and motivate students, while our EdTech platform delivers all instruction. No traditional teaching. Focused execution. Direct leadership.

Your objective: ensure every student enjoys school, learns at twice the pace of traditional classrooms, and develops essential life skills. This is not a conventional Principal position. You will maintain rigorous standards, make decisions grounded in data, and establish Springfield's strongest school from the start.

Lead through data. Coach toward excellence. Apply now.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Launch our Springfield, MA campus: Execute Alpha's three core promises for 100+ students from the first day with operational excellence in every area.
  • Facilitate live workshops with K-8 students focused on life skills: Lead engaging one-hour sessions covering public speaking, growth mindset, and giving and receiving feedback. Apply Alpha's playbook to ensure students develop skills overlooked by traditional schools while remaining engaged.
  • Drive every student to accomplish 100% of their objectives: Develop customized motivational strategies for each student. Apply data-driven methods to address resistance and maintain engagement with the Alpha platform. Success is defined by every student meeting their targets.
  • Coach Guides to high performance and uphold Alpha's standards: Leverage data to pinpoint performance gaps, provide clear feedback, and monitor progress. Make difficult decisions when performance does not meet expectations and model the standard for your campus.
  • Lead campus decisions using data analysis: Evaluate performance across staff, operations, parent engagement, and culture. Identify problems, perform root cause analysis, engage stakeholders, and implement measurable solutions. Monitor every decision and refine based on outcomes.

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Teaching or tutoring students. Students engage with Alpha's self-guided EdTech platform, not traditional lectures delivered by adults.
  • Creating lesson plans or curriculum. Alpha's playbook is already developed. Your responsibility is execution and leadership, not instructional design.
  • Overseeing budgets or recruiting staff. Central operations manage finance and hiring. You concentrate exclusively on campus performance and culture.
  • Serving as the subject-matter expert. This role is 80% leader and entertainer, 20% educator. You motivate, the platform teaches.

School Leader Key Responsibilities

Execute Alpha's three promises: every student loves school, learns twice as fast, and masters life skills — at a new Springfield campus from the first day.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or related field. Master's preferred.
  • At least 7 years of experience in education, learning and development, coaching, business, or related field.
  • Direct experience building and managing teams of at least 15 people with full hiring and firing authority.
  • Deep knowledge of the Springfield, MA education landscape.
  • Experience working with youth ages 5 - 14.
  • Strong data analysis skills and experience using metrics to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Passion for transforming education. Belief that the traditional system is fundamentally broken.
  • Startup mindset: thrives under pressure, adaptable in new situations, comfortable building systems from scratch.
  • Compelling and energetic speaker who commands attention from rooms full of students or staff.
  • Able to relate to K-8 students, understand their interests and culture, and serve as a positive role model.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
