Indexed description

This role is not about scheduling social posts, tracking engagement, or maintaining editorial calendars. It is about building belief. Texas Sports Academy is launching a $25k+/year AI-powered model that delivers rigorous academics alongside elite athletic development. The narrative does not yet exist in full. That is your opportunity.

This position requires someone who can command a stage, deliver on camera, engage parents, athletes, coaches, press, and community leaders, and establish one defining message: this represents a new school category. You will transform student results, athlete journeys, and organizational vision into a story that every stakeholder can articulate with precision and conviction. Then you will construct the system that validates it—through profiles, video content, editorial pieces, data-driven storytelling, earned press, and live events.

The scope is substantial. Initially, you will create everything from zero: positioning, evidence, tone, content assets, media relationships, and credibility. Over time, you will lead the creative function and define how TSA presents itself publicly. If you seek a high-visibility founding role where content drives demand ahead of enrollment decisions, this is it.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Develop the foundational narrative and targeted messaging for families, athletes, coaches, press, and policy audiences
  • Create evidence-based profiles of students and athletes, outcome-driven data narratives, video assets, and editorial content
  • Drive earned media outreach, establish thought leadership, and oversee communications in critical moments
  • Serve as TSA's public face on camera, on stage, at live events, in podcast appearances, and during media engagements
  • Define the standard for creative quality and ensure organizational alignment behind a unified, credible voice

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Executing paid digital advertising, media buying, cold outreach, or performance marketing initiatives
  • Operating enrollment systems, administering CRM platforms, or managing admissions processes
  • Pursuing vanity metrics like content output volume, impression counts, or superficial engagement data
  • Remaining behind presentations, committees, or internal approval cycles rather than acting as the brand's public representative
  • Leading curriculum development, academic strategy, fundraising efforts, or investor relations as primary responsibilities

Chief Content Officer Key Responsibilities

Generate a sustained pipeline of families who comprehend and trust TSA's premium AI-powered sports-education offering before entering the enrollment process.

Basic Requirements

  • 7+ years in roles requiring persuasive public communication
  • Ownership of narrative and public voice for a startup, mission-driven entity, media organization, or similar public-facing brand
  • Demonstrated on-camera and on-stage capability as a speaker, host, founder, journalist, content creator, or organizational spokesperson
  • Capacity to construct brand narrative frameworks and audience-specific messaging from the ground up
  • Advanced skill in adapting communication style across families, athletes, coaches, media, and civic stakeholders
  • Direct experience using AI-powered content tools to produce or guide high-caliber content creation
  • Genuine interest in sports and youth athletics
  • Based in Austin or prepared to relocate to Austin, TX for in-person work
  • U.S. work authorization

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Professional background in editorial work, journalism, broadcast, communications, strategic sales, or creator-driven brand development
  • Proven ability to translate outcome metrics into compelling narratives for affluent families or high-intent decision-makers
  • History of securing media placements independently, without paid acquisition support
  • Experience providing candid feedback to senior leadership while safeguarding message integrity and brand credibility
