POSITION SUMMARY

The Vice President of Operations is responsible for leading and managing all operational

functions across Performance Equine Veterinary Services' locations, serving as the

primary operational authority and strategic partner to the founder in running a

high-performing, multi-location equine veterinary and rehabilitation practice. This is a

senior leadership role that demands both strategic vision and hands-on execution,

requiring a leader who is as comfortable building operational systems and managing

financial performance as they are rolling up their sleeves to solve problems on the

ground. The VP of Operations will own the full operational picture across all PEVS and

EPIC locations, driving efficiency, team performance, client experience, and profitability

while positioning the organization for continued growth in the world's Horse Capital.

OBJECTIVES

-Oversee and manage all day-to-day operations across PEVS and EPIC locations,

ensuring each site operates efficiently, upholds quality standards, and delivers a

consistent and exceptional experience for clients and patients


-Own full P&L accountability for all operational functions, monitoring financial

performance across locations, identifying variances from plan, and driving

corrective actions to protect and grow overall profitability


-Develop, document, and enforce standardized operational processes, standard

operating procedures, and quality controls that can be consistently applied across

all current and future locations as the organization scales


- Build and lead a high-performing team across all sites, taking direct responsibility

for recruiting, onboarding, developing, and retaining staff who reflect PEVS's

culture, values, and commitment to excellence


-Serve as a close strategic partner to the founder, translating organizational vision

and growth objectives into executable operational plans with clear timelines,

resource requirements, and measurable outcomes


-Drive revenue growth across all service lines by identifying capacity and efficiency

opportunities, optimizing scheduling and workflow, and ensuring every location is

consistently performing at or above established financial targets


-Establish and manage vendor, supplier, and partner relationships, negotiating

contracts and controlling costs across equipment, medical supplies, facilities, and

third-party service providers


-Lead the selection, implementation, and optimization of practice management

systems, reporting platforms, and technology tools that improve operational

visibility, reduce administrative friction, and support data-driven leadership


-Ensure full regulatory compliance, licensing, and safety standards are maintained

across all PEVS and EPIC facilities, proactively managing audits, certifications, and

documentation to eliminate risk


- Develop and manage the operational budget across all locations, providing

accurate financial forecasting, tracking spend against plan, and recommending

capital investments that drive growth and operational quality


-Oversee the client experience across all touchpoints, identifying service gaps,

resolving escalated concerns, and implementing improvements that strengthen

PEVS's reputation and long-term client loyalty


-Evaluate and lead operational planning for new location launches and service line

expansions, building the infrastructure, staffing models, and processes needed to

support sustainable, repeatable growth

- Process Improvement: Identifies operational inefficiencies and designs scalable,

repeatable systems and SOPs that drive consistency, reduce waste, and deliver

better outcomes across all locations.

ensuring every interaction across all PEVS and EPIC touchpoints reflects the

organization's commitment to compassionate, personalized, and results-driven

service.


- Financial Acumen: Reads and interprets financial statements, operational

budgets, and performance data with confidence, using insights to forecast

accurately, manage costs proactively, and guide sound investment decisions.


-Communication and Influence: Communicates clearly and credibly with

veterinarians, clinical staff, clients, vendors, and leadership, building trust and

cross-functional alignment across a diverse, fast-growing organization.


-Compliance and Risk Management: Ensures all facilities maintain full regulatory,

licensing, and safety compliance, proactively identifying and mitigating

operational risks before they become organizational liabilities.


-Technology Adoption: Drives the selection and implementation of practice

management systems, analytics tools, and operational platforms that improve

data visibility, reduce administrative burden, and support better decision-making

at every level.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

-Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration,

Operations Management, or a related field required; an MBA or equivalent

advanced degree is strongly preferred


-Minimum 7 to 10 years of progressive operations leadership experience with

demonstrated success managing multi-site or multi-location organizations


-Proven track record of full P&L ownership with measurable results in revenue

growth, cost management, and operational efficiency improvement


-Experience in veterinary practice management, equine industry operations,

animal health, or a related healthcare or clinical services environment is strongly

preferred


-Demonstrated ability to build organizational infrastructure, develop teams, and

scale operations through periods of rapid growth


-Strong financial literacy with experience developing and managing operational

budgets, producing accurate forecasts, and presenting performance data to

ownership


-Experience implementing or optimizing practice management systems and

operational technology platforms


-Proven ability to operate as a trusted, senior-level partner alongside a founder or

principal leader in an entrepreneurial, high-growth setting


-Familiarity with veterinary regulatory requirements, OSHA standards, and

healthcare facility compliance is a plus
