Indexed description

Entangl is building the operating system for critical infrastructure, starting with data centers.

We are looking for an exceptional Chief of Staff to work directly with the founder and help turn the company’s ambition into execution.

This is not a ceremonial strategy role. It is not a meeting-management role. It is not a position for someone who wants to observe important decisions from the sidelines.

You will be expected to identify what matters, drive it forward, and make sure the company moves faster because you are here.

Some days, you may help shape company strategy. Other days, you may unblock a major customer deployment, redesign an internal process, recruit a key leader, prepare for a critical negotiation, or take ownership of a problem that does not fit neatly inside anyone else’s role.

Your job is to increase the quality and speed of decisions across Entangl and to make sure important things actually happen.

What You Will Own
  • Work directly with the founder on the company’s highest-priority problems.
  • Translate broad strategic goals into clear plans, owners, deadlines, and measurable outcomes.
  • Drive important cross-functional initiatives from ambiguity to completion.
  • Identify problems before they become visible or expensive.
  • Follow up relentlessly until commitments are completed.
  • Surface uncomfortable truths, missed deadlines, weak reasoning, and execution risks early.
  • Ensure that decisions made in meetings become actions outside them.
  • Prepare the founder for important customer, investor, hiring, and strategic conversations.
  • Conduct research and analysis that improves major company decisions.
  • Help recruit, assess, and close exceptional candidates.
  • Improve communication, accountability, and information flow across the company.
  • Build systems that reduce unnecessary dependence on the founder.
  • Step into urgent or neglected areas and create order quickly.
  • Represent the founder in discussions where context, judgment, and trust matter.
  • Take ownership of critical projects that have no obvious owner.
What Success Looks Like

You will not be measured by how busy you are, how many meetings you attend, or how polished your presentations look.

You will be measured by:

  • Whether the company’s most important priorities move faster.
  • Whether important decisions are made with better information.
  • Whether commitments are consistently completed.
  • Whether problems are identified earlier.
  • Whether teams have greater clarity and accountability.
  • Whether the founder can spend more time on the work that creates the most value.
  • Whether the systems you build continue working without your constant involvement.
  • Whether you become trusted with increasingly consequential decisions.

The clearest sign of success is that Entangl becomes more effective, more disciplined, and more ambitious because you are here.

Who You Are
  • You have an unusually strong sense of ownership.
  • You are relentlessly resourceful.
  • You do not wait for perfect instructions before acting.
  • You naturally notice gaps, inconsistencies, and unresolved problems.
  • You are comfortable operating with incomplete information.
  • You can move between strategy and detailed execution without losing effectiveness.
  • You are highly organized but not bureaucratic.
  • You follow through with exceptional discipline.
  • You are direct, honest, and willing to challenge the founder.
  • You have strong judgment about people, priorities, risk, and timing.
  • You can communicate clearly with engineers, customers, executives, investors, and operators.
  • You are calm under pressure and become more useful when situations become difficult.
  • You care more about outcomes than recognition or ownership of credit.
  • You have the stamina and intensity required to operate in a demanding, fast-moving environment.
  • You hold yourself and others to a very high standard.
You May Be a Strong Fit If
  • You have founded a company, worked in an early-stage startup, or held a role with unusually broad ownership.
  • You have led complex projects involving multiple teams and competing priorities.
  • You have worked closely with a founder, CEO, or senior executive.
  • You can point to situations where you took a neglected or ambiguous problem and drove it to completion.
  • You have made difficult decisions without having complete certainty.
  • You have built systems that materially improved how an organization operates.
  • People trust you with sensitive information and consequential responsibilities.
  • Former colleagues would describe you as intense, dependable, thoughtful, and exceptionally effective.

Exceptional candidates may come from entrepreneurship, operations, consulting, investing, engineering, product, military leadership, or other demanding environments. We care more about capability, judgment, and trajectory than conventional credentials.

This Role Is Not for You If
  • You need every responsibility to be clearly defined in advance.
  • You prefer advising over executing.
  • You wait for problems to be assigned to you.
  • You are uncomfortable holding senior people accountable.
  • You avoid conflict when directness is required.
  • You confuse long hours with meaningful output.
  • You allow important follow-ups to disappear.
  • You require frequent recognition or visible ownership of your work.
  • You want predictable days and a narrow scope.
  • You are satisfied with work that is merely adequate.
  • You are looking for a role that serves mainly as a stepping stone or résumé credential.
How We Work

We move quickly, but we do not confuse speed with carelessness.

We expect people to think independently, tell the truth, protect the company’s reputation, care deeply about customers, and take responsibility for outcomes.

The Chief of Staff will have significant access, context, and influence. That requires exceptional discretion, integrity, and judgment.

You must be able to disagree directly, commit fully once a decision is made, and put the company’s long-term interests above personal comfort or internal politics.

How to Apply

Do not send us a generic cover letter.

Tell us:

  1. What is the most important problem you have taken ownership of without being asked?
  2. Describe a project where you had very little clarity but were still expected to deliver.
  3. Tell us about a time you challenged a founder, executive, or senior leader. What happened?
  4. What is one system or process you built that continued working without you?
  5. What do you believe a great Chief of Staff should do that most Chiefs of Staff do not?
  6. Based on what you can learn about Entangl, what are the three most important things you would investigate in your first month?

We are looking for evidence of judgment, ownership, intensity, honesty, and execution.

This role can become one of the most consequential positions in the company. The scope will grow in direct proportion to the trust you earn and the results you produce.
