Lead one of the world's most influential accessibility organizations as President of American Printing House for the Blind (APH).


Founded in 1858, APH is an internationally recognized nonprofit dedicated to expanding educational opportunity and lifelong success for people who are blind or low vision through groundbreaking assistive technology, educational products, research, and services.


As the organization enters an extraordinary period of growth and innovation, including the expansion of award-winning technologies, the opening of The Dot Experience, and increasing national and global partnerships, the next President will have the opportunity to shape the future of accessibility while leading an organization with a 165-year legacy of transforming lives.


Position Highlights


  • Lead the strategic vision and operations of a globally recognized nonprofit serving more than 73,000 students across the United States.
  • Guide an organization at the forefront of accessibility, assistive technology, education, manufacturing, and innovation.
  • Partner with an engaged Board of Trustees while leading an executive team of six direct reports and more than 330 employees.
  • Expand strategic partnerships across government, education, philanthropy, technology, and the blindness and low vision community.
  • Shape APH's next chapter by advancing innovation, diversifying revenue, strengthening organizational performance, and serving as the organization's chief ambassador.


Ideal Candidate


  • Senior executive leadership experience leading a complex organization with demonstrated success in strategic planning, organizational growth, and change management.
  • Proven ability to build, mentor, and inspire high-performing, collaborative teams while fostering an inclusive culture.
  • Experience partnering effectively with nonprofit boards and engaging diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong financial and entrepreneurial acumen, with success overseeing complex operations and developing sustainable revenue strategies.
  • A passionate commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and APH's mission, coupled with exceptional communication, relationship-building, and public leadership skills.


Compensation & Benefits


  • Salary: $440,000–$480,000.
  • Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, retirement, generous paid time off, life and disability insurance, flexible spending accounts, and relocation assistance.
  • Full-time, onsite position based in Louisville, Kentucky.
