Director – Insurance Strategy

We are building a small, high-calibre strategy team focused on solving some of the most complex strategic and transformation challenges facing the insurance sector.

We are looking for individuals who combine exceptional strategic thinking, commercial judgement and the ability to influence senior decision-makers on issues that shape businesses.

The team is intentionally selective. We recognise that the strongest candidates are typically successful in their current roles and not actively seeking a move.

The Opportunity

As Director, you will work directly with executive leadership on high-impact strategic initiatives spanning growth strategy, enterprise transformation, AI and digital, operating model design and value creation across the insurance sector.

Beyond leading complex programmes, you'll play an important role in shaping relationships, developing people and helping build a distinctive strategy capability with long-term ambitions.

What You'll Do

  • Advise senior executives on strategic and transformation priorities.
  • Lead complex programmes from strategy through execution.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across the insurance market.
  • Develop and mentor high-performing teams.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen strategic partnerships and drive growth.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the organisation's strategic capabilities.

About You

We're interested in exceptional individuals rather than conventional career paths.

You'll likely bring:

  • 5–12 years' experience within a leading strategy consultancy, corporate strategy function or another high-performance environment.
  • Deep expertise in insurance and financial services.
  • Familiarity with modern AI strategy
  • A strong track record delivering strategic transformation and influencing executive stakeholders.
  • Outstanding analytical capability, commercial judgement and structured problem-solving skills.
  • Experience leading high-performing teams.
  • Excellent academic credentials and fluency in English (German is advantageous).

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This role offers the chance to work alongside a small group of exceptional professionals on strategic challenges that matter.

It is suited to individuals who enjoy intellectually demanding work, value ownership and want to play a meaningful role in building something with long-term significance—rather than simply joining another established organisation.

If that resonates, we'd welcome a confidential conversation.
