Purpose of the Role
The Chief of Staff plays a pivotal role in enabling the Chief Executive and Executive Committee to deliver the National Wealth Fund’s strategic priorities. The role provides strategic coordination, governance discipline, and delivery oversight across the CEO’s agenda — ensuring alignment between the organisation’s mandate, Board expectations, and operational execution.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Coordination:
- Drive alignment of priorities, ensuring the CEO’s focus and organisational resources are directed to the highest-value initiatives across investment, people, and impact objectives.
- Lead and coordinate the Office of the CEO, managing the flow of information, decisions, and communications between the CEO, Executive Committee and Board.
- Support the CEO in maintaining focus and effectiveness across ExCo and Board forums — including agenda setting, briefing materials, action tracking, and delivery of agreed outcomes.
- Monitor progress on key strategic programmes and institutional priorities, escalating issues and supporting problem-solving to maintain delivery momentum.
- Work closely with the Comms team to prepare the CEO for high-level meetings and external engagements; ensure consistent, strategic messaging aligned to NWF’s mission and values.
- Partner with the senior leadership team to embed efficient operating rhythms, clear accountabilities, and a culture of collaboration, transparency, and performance.
- Proven experience operating at senior levels in government, financial services, or a complex public-private organisation.
- Strong strategic and analytical capability, with the judgement to translate vision into execution.
- Exceptional communication, influencing, and relationship-management skills, with the credibility to engage senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly organised and adaptable, able to manage multiple priorities with discretion and diplomacy.
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills with the ability to build productive, respectful relationships quickly.
