Help Shape Europe's Future Pandemic Preparedness

A confidential global pharmaceutical organisation is establishing a new European Health Security business unit and is seeking an experienced leader to help shape its government engagement strategy across the region.

This is a rare opportunity to join at the very beginning of a major strategic investment focused on strengthening partnerships between industry and government, ensuring European countries have access to critical vaccines and medical countermeasures during future public health emergencies.

Working at the intersection of government affairs, public policy, market access and commercial strategy, you will play a key role in developing relationships with ministries of health, national procurement agencies, public health organisations and international stakeholders across Europe.

This is not a traditional pharmaceutical sales role. Instead, it is an opportunity to influence how governments prepare for future pandemics through long-term strategic partnerships and innovative access models.

Reporting into senior European leadership, you will be responsible for:

• Developing strategic partnerships with ministries of health, government agencies and key public-sector stakeholders across Europe.
• Leading engagement with national public health organisations, procurement authorities and pandemic preparedness bodies.
• Supporting national and regional health security initiatives.
• Developing market access and government engagement strategies across multiple European markets.
• Identifying opportunities for strategic stockpiling, emergency preparedness and long-term supply partnerships.
• Leading complex public-sector negotiations, tenders and contracting discussions.
• Working cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Supply Chain and Commercial teams.
• Providing strategic insight into the evolving European health security and public policy landscape.

About You

You will bring significant experience from the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or vaccine sectors, together with a strong track record of engaging senior government stakeholders.

You may currently work within:

• Public Sector Engagement

Experience within vaccines, infectious diseases, pandemic preparedness, health security or public health programmes would be highly advantageous.

You will also possess:

• Experience navigating complex European healthcare systems and government decision-making.
• The credibility to influence senior stakeholders across ministries, public health agencies and procurement organisations.
• Strong commercial awareness combined with excellent strategic relationship-building skills.
• The ability to operate internationally across multiple European markets.
