Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Leads the design and internal build-out of the Performance Improvement Department, including operating model, staffing structure, and methodology, to establish an operational and financial transformation capability across the health system.
- Aligns performance improvement priorities with system-wide strategic goals, working closely with executive vice presidents to ensure initiatives address the organization's highest-value financial and operational improvement opportunities.
- Leads performance excellence initiatives spanning cost improvement, revenue growth, productivity, and operational efficiency, balancing near-term financial pressure with longer-term strategic investments.
- Establishes and maintains program and project governance, including a centralized portfolio tracker, prioritization criteria, financial impact targets, and an intake process for new initiative requests.
- Quantifies savings and ROI from initiatives, clearly delineating hard savings from soft savings and validates figures with finance partners.
- Provides subject matter expertise and leading practices across clinical and non-clinical functions to improve productivity, throughput, cost structure, revenue capture, and operational performance.
- Provides execution discipline to initiatives, holding teams to timelines and milestones, removing barriers, and building monitoring mechanisms so improvements are sustained.
- Partners with the business intelligence team to build reporting that gives Health System and Subsidiary leadership a clear, consistent view of initiative status, financial impact, operational impact, and barriers to execution.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- 15 years of progressive experience in operational and/or financial transformation, management consulting, or healthcare leadership.
- Prior experience with a top-tier management consulting firm or equivalent internal strategy/transformation leadership role.
