FSS Business Enablement

The jobholder is part of the COO FSS world supporting (i) execution of FSS business strategy; (ii) corporate business unit needs; (iii) financial performance of FSS; etc
Role will report into FSS COO.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
- Awareness and understanding of CIB, COO and FSS’s strategy
- Work with FSS MT to define and implement the business strategic agenda to maximise shareholder value, identify and create areas of competitive advantage
- Actively participate and contribute to the development and implementation of FSS’ strategic priorities, which maximises shareholder value, identifies and creates areas of competitive advantage and aligns to the overall strategic direction of the wider business.
- Awareness and understanding of FSS business, economic and regulatory/market environment in which the Group Operates.
- Support the implementation of strategic programmes and initiatives of FSS and/or the Bank
- Work with support functions (eg. Operations, technology) in building up of business cases for investments
- Drive the adoption of technology solutions to enhance operational efficiency and support business growth
- Ability to think literally and look for opportunities to simplify process and enhance controls as part of design
- Support the Business in contributing to the Bank’s near-term and long-term revenue targets
- Work closely with Technology and Operations to drive continuous improvement of the operational efficiency, effectiveness and consistency of global processes and systems.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement to sustain competitive advantage.
- Responsible for leading through example and building the appropriate culture and values. Sets appropriate tone and expectations for the team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.

- Support FSS in driving talent management, mobility opportunity, training calendars, D&I initiatives, teach-ins etc, within FSS and with broader CIB / Bank
- Ability to connect risk themes and issues across the products, functions and locations.
- Ensure risk management maters for FSS are subject to direct remedial action and/or escalated, where appropriate to FSS Head/COO in a timely manner
- Support documentation of financial risks of FSS, in collaboration with Business Risks Management and FSS Management Team
- Responsible for ensuring policies and standards are fit for purpose for FSS
- Maintains awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
- Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
- Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

- Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures
- Academic or Professional Education/Qualifications; University educated
- 10+ years of experience in the financial services sector with strong understanding of securities services products and services
- Strong commercial acumen, with deep understanding of P&L dynamics, cost management, margins, and returns optimisation.
- Deep expertise in business, product, and non‑financial risk, with a strong track record of governance and regulatory engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex transformation agendas, including technology‑enabled change and operating model evolution.
- Credible, confident leader with a global mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to challenge constructively.
- Role model for the Group’s Values, with an uncompromising commitment to ethics, conduct, and risk discipline.
