Managing Director, Saudi Joint Venture
HMH is seeking a Managing Director to lead its Saudi Joint Venture and drive the next phase of growth, operational excellence, and customer partnership in the Kingdom. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for overall JV performance, including strategy, financial results, operational execution, governance, customer engagement, and organizational leadership.
Reporting to the Joint Venture Board of Directors, the Managing Director will serve as the primary leader of the business while working closely with HMH regional, global, and functional teams. The successful candidate will bring strong commercial and operational judgment, proven P&L leadership, and the ability to align Board priorities, customer needs, and HMH capabilities into a clear and executable business strategy.
This role requires a collaborative, transparent, and highly credible leader who can operate effectively in a matrix environment. The Managing Director will be expected to build trust across shareholders, customers, employees, and HMH leadership, while creating a disciplined and accountable culture focused on growth, performance, safety, and customer success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall strategy, growth agenda, financial performance, and operational execution of the Saudi Joint Venture.
- Own P&L performance and deliver revenue, profitability, cash flow, working capital, and operational targets.
- Translate Board direction into actionable plans, measurable outcomes, and disciplined execution.
- Strengthen alignment between the JV, the Board of Directors, and HMH regional, global, and functional leadership teams.
- Build and maintain executive-level customer relationships with drilling contractors, National Oil Companies, EPC partners, and other strategic stakeholders.
- Identify and capture growth opportunities by leveraging HMH’s full portfolio of products, services, technologies, and lifecycle solutions.
- Drive operational excellence across commercial, manufacturing, aftermarket, field service, supply chain, quality, HSSE, and customer support activities.
- Develop a high-performing local leadership team and foster a culture of accountability, transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, customer developments, and business risks to support proactive decision-making and Board reporting.
- Represent the JV with credibility in customer, Board, shareholder, and internal leadership discussions.
The successful candidate will bring:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Business, etc.) required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in drilling, oilfield equipment, manufacturing, aftermarket services, or lifecycle support.
- Demonstrated P&L ownership in a complex, matrixed organization.
- Strong commercial, operational, and customer-facing leadership experience.
- Experience working with drilling contractors, National Oil Companies, and strategic partners, preferably in the Middle East or Saudi Arabia.
- Technical familiarity with drilling equipment, well control systems, automated pipe handling, lifecycle services, and capital equipment manufacturing.
- Proven ability to lead across commercial, operations, supply chain, service, engineering, quality, and HSSE organizations.
- Prior Joint Venture, country leadership, or regional leadership experience is highly desirable.
- A leadership style grounded in transparency, collaboration, accountability, and trust.
