Role Description The Executive Director is a full-time leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategic, operational, and financial health of DIVINE DIGNITY INC. This hybrid position is based in Hilliard, OH, with a combination of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading organizational strategy, managing programs and services, supervising staff and volunteers, and ensuring effective communication with the board of directors. The Executive Director will develop and manage budgets, oversee fundraising and donor relations, cultivate community partnerships, and ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulations. The role also involves monitoring program outcomes, reporting on organizational performance, and fostering an inclusive, ethical, and mission-centered work environment.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations, including strategic planning, program oversight, and staff supervision.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, financial reporting, and organizational resources with accountability and transparency.
  • Experience with fundraising, donor relations, grant writing, and developing community or corporate partnerships.
  • Strong communication skills, including public speaking, stakeholder engagement, and clear written reporting to boards and funders.
  • Ability to build and maintain an inclusive, collaborative, and respectful organizational culture aligned with the mission.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit governance, compliance, and best practices; experience working with a board of directors is beneficial.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as nonprofit management, social work, business, or public administration) or equivalent professional experience; advanced degree is a plus.
  • Comfort with hybrid work arrangements, digital collaboration tools, and adapting to evolving organizational needs.

Our hygiene centers and closets are located in community centers, medical clinics, drug recovery programs, homeless shelters and schools. Overview of Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

Divine Dignity seeks a dynamic and experienced leader who will serve as the visionary of the organization, leveraging the power of relationships and networks, while working across private and public sectors within the greater Columbus community. The Executive Director is the chief steward of the Divine Dignity brand and is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to maintain the financial stability of the organization. Understanding that Divine Dignity serves a large number of underserved and at-risk clients, the Executive Director works to effectively build and sustain relationships with diverse staff and constituencies. The Executive Director follows values established by our mission: Dignity, Integrity, Trust, Reliability, Faithfulness, Empathy and Gratitude.

Through an experienced team, the Executive Director provides leadership in the development of innovative programs to support the mission. The role also supports the health of the organization through operational and financial oversight and executing on the policies authorized by the Board. The recruitment and retention of the highest quality staff, and management of staff functions, is a critical responsibility.

Essential Position Requirements

● Represents Divine Dignity and its mission with transparent and high integrity leadership within the community.

● Interfaces with board members and other volunteers, other agencies, government entities, and the business and religious communities.

● Ensures Divine Dignity’s compliance with its Mission, Values, Strategic Plan, Code of Regulations, Governance Policies and Goals, as well as the Ohio Association of Nonprofit Organization’s Standards of Excellence.

● Drives development and implementation of all services offered by Divine Dignity, leading as visionary for innovative programs and services.

● Secures funding, both public and private, for operating Divine Dignity on an on-going basis; approves fundraising activities and meets contractual funding policies and all applicable legal or ethical restrictions.

● Advises and recommends to the Board of Trustees regarding operations and organizational structure.

● Administers and exercises general supervision over all affairs of the organization.

● Serves as ex-officio member of the Board of Directors.

● Hires, evaluates, and directs leadership positions and evaluates the work of direct reports within the organization and determines compensation of employees within salary ranges and authorized budgets.

● Enforces and sets a positive example for others in complying with the employment policies of Divine Dignity consistent with its Employees Handbook and other policies.


Qualifications

● Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Business, Public Administration, Social Services or related field

● Two to Four years’ experience in administration, people and fiscal management

● Previous experience with a not-for-profit social service-related agency preferred

● Demonstrated strategic leadership within a dynamic environment

● A track record of credibility within the community that has resulted in major gifts or grants, both from public and private sources for nonprofits.
