Position Summary
MBC Holdings, Inc (MBC) is seeking an accomplished Fractional Chief Information Officer to partner directly with executive leadership in modernizing the company's technology strategy and IT organization. This executive will provide strategic leadership, not day-to-day help desk management, to transform IT into a business enabler supporting construction operations, acquisitions, analytics, cybersecurity, and long-term growth.
The successful candidate will inherit a capable technical team but will be expected to strengthen leadership, establish accountability, and introduce a modern operating model centered around governance, cloud technologies, AI, data, and business partnership.

Business Context
MBC is a well-established heavy civil construction company with significant investments in eCMS, Microsoft technologies, field operations, and specialized construction systems. The company has grown successfully but now requires stronger executive technology leadership to:
• Transition IT from reactive to strategic
• Execute a 3–5 year technology transformation roadmap
• Modernize infrastructure while protecting operational stability
• Build an AI-ready data foundation
• Mature governance and portfolio management
• Improve vendor and MSP management
• Prepare the business for future growth and acquisitions
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the enterprise technology strategy
- Serve as trusted advisor to the CEO, CFO, and executive leadership
- Coach and develop the existing IT leadership team while raising organizational expectations
- Lead cloud-first, SaaS-first evaluations where appropriate while maximizing existing investments
- Establish Change Advisory Board (CAB) governance, portfolio management, and technology standards
- Oversee cybersecurity strategy, risk management, and business continuity
- Lead enterprise data strategy, Power BI governance, and AI enablement
- Develop IT budgets, business cases, and multi-year roadmaps
- Guide ERP strategy surrounding eCMS and future platform evolution
- Improve vendor accountability and MSP performance through measurable SLAs
Experience
Required:
• Former CIO, CTO, or senior technology executive
• 20+ years of progressive technology leadership
• Experience leading enterprise digital transformation
• Construction Technology
• Executive-level communication and board presentation skills
• Strong understanding of Microsoft ecosystem, Azure, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, and data analytics
Preferred:
- MBA or equivalent business education
- Family-owned or closely held businesses experience
- Experience modernizing legacy ERP environments
- Demonstrated success implementing AI and cloud strategies
