The incumbent will be responsible for driving global manufacturing operations across the L&T EPS portfolio, including ESDM, Mobility, Industrial Robotics & Automation, Power Electronics, and Strategic Electronics. The role will also establish the Coimbatore ESDM facility as a global centre of excellence for advanced engineering design and electronics manufacturing, creating scalable capabilities that can be offered to global customers and strategic partners. Success will be measured by the development of these capabilities and their conversion into sustainable business opportunities across the L&T EPS portfolio.
Strategic Transformation & Business Model Evolution
- Drive transition from build-to-print manufacturing → design-led manufacturing (DLM model) aligned with L&T strategy
- Establish integrated product lifecycle model (Design → NPI → HVM → Lifecycle support)
- Build scalable frameworks for multi-site manufacturing and global delivery
- Lead greenfield / brownfield factory transformations including: Automation and digital factory setup, Manufacturing engineering and quality systems
- Develop structured New Product Introduction (NPI) to High-Volume Manufacturing (HVM) frameworks
- Drive cost, quality, and cycle-time improvements across product lines
- Lead end-to-end ERP transformation programs (SAP S/4HANA) across LTEPS
- Implement integrated supply chain planning systems (e.g., demand-driven planning tools)
- Establish governance models across Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, and IT
- Build and manage strategic supplier ecosystem: Electronics manufacturing partners, Component and subsystem vendors, Global technology collaborators
- Strengthen Make in India + global sourcing hybrid model
- Drive resilience in supply chain (multi-sourcing, localization, digital visibility)
- Develop and lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams
- Electrical, electronics, embedded systems, test, reliability
- Establish test engineering, validation, and reliability frameworks
- Drive adoption of: Simulation-driven design, Agile engineering practices, Data-driven quality systems
- Build data-driven manufacturing and engineering platforms
- Deploy ML/automation tools for: Yield improvement, Failure analysis, Predictive maintenance
- Enable real-time operational dashboards and decision intelligence
- Build and scale a high-performance global engineering and operations organization
- Establish clear org structure (engineering, manufacturing, program mgmt.), capability development frameworks
- Drive governance models for: Cross-functional execution, Global stakeholder alignment, Program management rigor
- Drive enterprise-wide operational excellence initiatives to enhance productivity, manufacturing efficiency, quality, and delivery performance across all LTEPS manufacturing operations.
- Establish standardized manufacturing processes, quality systems, and governance frameworks to ensure consistent execution across multiple business units and global manufacturing sites.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost optimization, cycle time reduction, yield enhancement, capacity utilization, and operational scalability.
- Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and data-driven quality methodologies to build a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Develop performance management frameworks and manufacturing KPIs covering productivity, quality, delivery, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
- Foster a Zero Defect Manufacturing culture through robust quality assurance, process discipline, and cross-functional collaboration to achieve world-class manufacturing standards.

- Master’s in Engineering (Mechanical / EE or related)
- 18–25 years of experience in:
- Advanced manufacturing / semiconductor / electronics
- Engineering leadership
- Supply chain & digital transformation
- Proven experience in:
- Large-scale ERP transformation
- Global stakeholder management
- Multi-site manufacturing operations
