About The Opportunity
Our client, a privately held transportation and logistics organization providing nationwide freight and supply chain solutions, is seeking an experienced Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead enterprise technology across a large, mission-critical organization.
This executive leadership role oversees an IT organization of approximately 550 professionals supporting more than 20 business units while driving enterprise technology strategy, digital transformation, cybersecurity, infrastructure, software engineering, and innovation.
The CIO will serve as a strategic business partner to executive leadership, ensuring technology investments align with organizational goals while maintaining highly available, secure, and scalable systems supporting 24/7 nationwide operations.
Position Highlights

- Establish technology roadmaps supporting business scalability and operational excellence
- Lead infrastructure, software engineering, networking, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, business applications, data services, help desk, and project management teams
- Oversee hybrid cloud platforms and enterprise client-server environments
- Ensure enterprise systems remain secure, scalable, highly available, and reliable
- Direct enterprise infrastructure, networking, storage, telecommunications, and endpoint technology strategies
- Support business-critical technology operating in a 24/7 environment
- Lead enterprise cybersecurity strategy, governance, and risk management initiatives
- Oversee disaster recovery, business continuity, compliance, and technology resilience programs
- Strengthen enterprise security posture while ensuring regulatory and operational compliance
- Develop policies, standards, and best practices supporting enterprise technology governance
- Manage multi-million-dollar operating and capital technology budgets
- Oversee strategic vendor relationships, technology contracts, and enterprise investments
- Establish and monitor KPIs, SLAs, and operational performance metrics
- Evaluate emerging technologies, AI, automation, and innovation opportunities that improve organizational performance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
- Master's degree or MBA preferred
- 15+ years of progressive IT leadership experience
- Experience leading enterprise IT organizations with 300+ employees
- Strong background in cloud platforms, enterprise infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and software development
- Proven success leading enterprise digital transformation initiatives
- Executive-level communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical 24/7 business environments
- Ability to align technology strategy with organizational growth and operational objectives
- Transportation or logistics organizations
- Supply chain or distribution operations
- Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) or trucking environments
- ERP, TMS, WMS, CRM, and enterprise financial systems
