Indexed description

Organization Overview: For more than 100 years, Northside Neighborhood House (NNH) has existed to uplift and empower our neighbors north of the river. Our footprint is northern Hamilton County, and we are intentionally rooted there, staying proximate to the neighbors we serve rather than spreading

thin. Within that footprint, NNH has grown tremendously over the last twenty years: a tenfold

operating budget increase, new innovative programming, two sites to five, and 13 employees in

2006 to more than 70 today.

  • Stability Program: Case management, financial assistance, and empowerment programming that moves neighbors from crisis to long-term stability.
  • Community Schools: Coordinators in ten area schools supporting students, families, and the whole school community.
  • Thrift Stores: Three stores offering low-cost clothing, furniture, and household items while helping fund the mission.

Role Summary: The CEO reports to the Board of Directors and leads NNH strategically, operationally, and fiscally. This is both an outward-facing and an inward-facing role: cultivating the funding and the people

NNH needs, guiding the strategic plan, partnering closely with an engaged board, and building a

workplace where a strong team can do its best work. This role leads the whole organization; it

does not run programs day to day.

The right person leads with relationships, is at ease asking for support, and keeps NNH

accountable to the neighbors it serves. If you can hold vision and follow-through in the same

hand, this is your team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Strategic vision & leadership: Refine and implement the strategic plan with the Board and Leadership Team; lead long-range planning for facilities and locations so the agency stays proximate to our neighbors.
  • Finance: Partner with the CFO on the annual budget and monthly reporting; set financial priorities that support programming and staff.
  • Fundraising & community engagement: Cultivate the funding NNH needs, carry a portfolio of major donor relationships, serve as spokesperson, and equip the board in its fundraising role.
  • Board governance & partnership: Serve as primary liaison to the Board; support recruitment, onboarding, and development; partner with the Board Chair on meaningful agendas.
  • Infrastructure & operations: Ensure high-quality services while managing for growth; build an engaged, inclusive work environment through strong internal communication.
  • Data, outcomes & improvement: Own agency outcomes and report quarterly to the board, using data to drive decisions and share NNH's impact.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Ten+ years progressive experience, incl. five in senior leadership
  • Fundraising, board development, marketing, and fiscal management
  • Nonprofit multi-site experience preferred; comparable private-sector executives equally considered
  • Experience with volunteers is ideal

Employee Benefits

  • 36-hour work week
  • PTO, holiday pay & paid parental leave
  • Employer-supported health insurance
  • Dental & vision plans available
  • Long-term disability & life insurance
  • TextCare

Why NNH

Lead one of Hamilton County's oldest nonprofits into its next century, backed by a strong financial

position, a history of successful fundraising, and a high-functioning, experienced Leadership Team.

Salary $140,000–$150,000.
