Raya Power

Raya Power is making affordable, reliable energy accessible for the hundreds of millions of people who don’t have the option of rooftop solar: renters, people with older homes, communities choosing between generators and going dark. Seed-stage, women-founded, launching commercially this year in Puerto Rico.

The role

As Raya's Executive Operations Manager, you'll own the infrastructure that keeps the company running. From payroll and taxes to executive administrative support, facilities management, IT procurement, and vendor invoices, you're the person who makes sure nothing falls through the cracks. You'll work directly with the founders (especially CEO) and across every team at Raya. You'll be the first person to own these functions, which means you'll help design the systems, pick the tools, and set the standard for how Raya operates internally as we scale.

What it looks like day-to-day (non-exhaustive)

Keeping Raya’s internal operations running smoothly (~60%)

  • Executive & logistical support — work closely with the Executive team on calendar management, email triage, and scheduling; coordinate travel, book flights and accommodations, and handle the operational logistics
  • HR & people operations — own payroll, health and liability insurance, PTO and benefits tracking, employee onboarding, and compliance with applicable employment law
  • Tax & accounting — own the relationship with our external accountants and bookkeepers; ensure books are current and accurate, tax filings are submitted on time, and financial records are organized and accessible to founders and investors
  • Bill pay & accounts payable — manage vendor invoices, expense approvals, and recurring payments so nothing lapses
  • Office space — handle leases, vendor relationships, and logistics for non-manufacturing physical footprint
  • IT & tools — procure, configure, and maintain laptops and equipment for the team; manage software subscriptions, licenses, and AI tool spend; be the person teammates turn to when something's broken or needs to be set up

Building for scale (~30%)

  • Shape internal operations – Design the processes, select the tools, choose the vendors that make our internal operations (above) run smoothly as we grow

On-the-ground help when we need it (~10%)

  • In-person support in our launch market (PR) – Help facilitate a successful launch by independently executing occasional critical in-person tasks (e.g, picking up materials, checking in on filing status at a local office)

You're a fit if you have

  • 5+ years in business operations and/or executive administrative support where you owned multiple functions simultaneously
  • Experience building internal operations from the ground up ideally at an early stage start-up, not just executing pre-defined processes
  • Exceptional organizational skills — you run on checklists, nothing slips, and you build systems so things don't depend on memory
  • Ability to context-switch quickly and without losing ground – when something urgent lands, you reprioritize quickly, handle it, and get back to what was already in motion
  • A self-starter and true owner of your work — you don't wait to be told something needs to happen; you see it, you take it, you close it
  • Strong professional communicator with executives, investors, business partners, founders, and the full team — you're the connective tissue of the organization, you know when to ask for help
  • Professional fluency in Spanish and English

Bonus points

  • Experience using AI tools and agents to scale your own output — you've figured out how to do the work of two or three people by building smart systems around yourself
  • Background in energy, hardware, or climate tech, ideally in the Puerto Rico context
  • Specific experience in regulatory, compliance & legal coordination in the US (including Puerto Rico)

The ideal candidate

  • Motivated by mission — the people Raya is building for deserve reliable, affordable energy, and the internal infrastructure you build is what lets us keep building for them
  • Takes pride in being the reason the organization runs smoothly — you know the company runs because someone made sure the insurance renewed, the payroll processed, and the compliance filing went out
  • Gets things done reliably, and builds the systems that make the next round easier
  • Proactive, not reactive — you track renewal dates, filing deadlines, and open items without being asked, and you surface problems before they become emergencies
  • Has good judgment about when to handle something independently and when to loop in a founder, a lawyer, or an outside expert
  • Builds trust quickly — teammates know they can come to you with a problem and it will get handled

Compensation

  • $45-65k annually + equity

Benefits

  • Health Insurance: 100% covered health insurance options
  • Paid Vacation: Flexible, with an expectation you take at least 3 weeks annually
  • Sick & Wellness Days: Flexible — we trust you to manage your health
  • Leave Policies: Bereavement leave and support through major life events; compliant with applicable paid family and medical leave programs
  • Equipment stipends to help you do your best work

Application

Apply through LinkedIn and send us an email at [email protected] telling us about a time you built an internal function (preferred) or process from scratch — why did it matter, what broke first, and what you put in place so it wouldn't break again.
