Executive Director – The Sharing Center (Trevor, WI)

The Sharing Center seeks a mission-driven, strategic, and community-focused Executive Director to lead our organization into its next chapter of growth and impact. As western Kenosha County’s trusted community anchor, The Sharing Center has evolved rapidly to meet rising needs, growing into a mid-sized organization with a $2.6M annual operating budget.

This role offers the unique opportunity to shape our programs, strengthen vital partnerships, and expand the resources that directly support families facing food insecurity, housing instability, and crisis. If you are a collaborative leader who thrives on building relationships, inspiring teams, and driving measurable change, we invite you to guide us through our next phase of service.

About Us

For decades, The Sharing Center has provided food, clothing, financial assistance, and pathways toward stability. We are committed to compassionate service, community collaboration, and innovative approaches to addressing poverty. We are currently in an exciting period of transformation to expand our facilities and reach, and we need a leader who can balance this strategic vision with operational excellence.

The Opportunity

As our Executive Director, you will serve as the primary ambassador for the organization, building collaborative relationships with government agencies, community leaders, and philanthropic partners. You will be responsible for:

  • Strategic Leadership: Working with the Board of Directors to set organizational priorities and foster a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Financial & Operational Stewardship: Ensuring the long-term sustainability of the Center through rigorous financial management, audit compliance, and resource oversight.
  • Resource Development: Leading comprehensive fundraising strategies, including major donor cultivation and grant management, to ensure we have the resources to meet growing community demand.
  • Community Advocacy: Representing The Sharing Center at regional levels, advocating for system improvements, and strengthening our position as a vital part of the community’s safety net.

This is a full-time exempt role. It reports to the Board of Directors and manages a staff of up to 5 full-time and part-time staff in addition to volunteer staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates will be considered if they meet these broad minimums:

  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable years of relevant experience
  • 7+ years of progressive leadership and people management experience
  • Must be able to regularly work on-site at our Trevor, WI facility and attend local community events in Kenosha County.

Preferred Qualifications

The strongest candidates will bring:

  • Experience setting organizational strategy and direction in a nonprofit environment
  • Fundraising, donor relations, and grant-writing success
  • Knowledge of compliance, audits, and financial reporting
  • Background in community programs, social services, or crisis response
  • Skill in building partnerships with government, nonprofits, and local stakeholders
  • Servant leadership for staff and volunteers

Compensation: Competitive base salary based on experience and market data. Includes paid holidays and PTO, healthcare stipend, and 403b match. Final offer will consider experience, location, and internal equity.

Equal Opportunity Employer: The Sharing Center is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, transgender status, and sexual orientation), national origin, age, disability, or genetic information. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to any of these factors.

Physical requirements: The position requires occasional standing, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 15 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

Resumes will be accepted until September 15, 2026
