Deputy General Manager

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Deputy GM plays a central role in translating strategic objectives into operational execution.

This executive position combines leadership, market development, regulatory oversight, stakeholder management, and organizational coordination.

What You'll Do

Support the General Manager in defining and executing BRM's strategic objectives

Oversee exchange operations and the performance of BRM trading platforms across energy and commodities markets

Drive the development and implementation of new market segments, trading products, and exchange initiatives

Ensure compliance with Romanian and European regulatory frameworks governing energy and commodities markets

Coordinate interactions with regulators, public authorities, market participants, and institutional stakeholders

Monitor market activity and ensure adherence to trading procedures, governance standards, and risk management principles

Lead and support the organizational development initiatives

Act on behalf of the General Manager and exercise delegated authority when required

What We're Looking For

Experience

• Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience, including leadership responsibilities
• Experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Energy markets | Gas & Power
• Commodity & Exchange trading and operations
• Financial markets
• Big Four or other leading consulting firms
• Regulatory or market oversight institutions

Knowledge & Expertise

Strong understanding of:

• Wholesale energy markets
• Exchange trading mechanisms and market operations
• Market regulation and compliance
• Risk management and governance frameworks
• Experience with European energy market structures and regulatory frameworks is a strong advantage.

Education & Skills

✔ University degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Law, Business Administration

✔ MBA or postgraduate qualification is considered an advantage

✔ Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and decision-making capabilities

✔ Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills

✔ Professional-level English
