GM of Strategy & Architecture

As one of Australia’s fastest growing insurers, Auto & General is entering a pivotal phase of growth and transformation. As GM of Strategy & Architecture, you will be the organisation's most senior technology strategist and architectural authority, defining the enterprise technology vision that will underpin the next five years and beyond.

About the opportunity:

This is not a traditional architecture leadership role. You'll partner closely with the Executive Leadership Team, influence strategic technology investment decisions, and build an architecture function that balances long-term vision with pragmatic delivery. You'll challenge thinking, shape future-state architecture, and create the governance, capability and technical direction that secures Auto & General's architectural landscape for years to come. Success will be defined by balancing long-term architecture with existing commercial realities.

About You:

You'll be a respected architecture owner and transformation leader who combines strategic thinking with commercial pragmatism.

You'll bring with you;

• Extensive experience leading Enterprise Architecture or Technology Strategy within a complex and fast paced environment.
• A proven ability to develop an enterprise-wide technology strategy ensuring alignment between high-level vision and practical implementation.
• Executive presence with the credibility to influence Boards, C-suite executives, technology partners and senior engineering leaders.
• Skills in leading architecture forums and removing bottlenecks to enable improved delivery and velocity.
• A collaborative leadership style that develops high-performing teams and builds influence across an organisation.
• Financial services experience working with regulators is a bonus but NOT a must have.
