Chief Financial Officer

Privatal is partnering with a leading SaaS business backed by a prominent PE investor, based in Baden-Württemberg (hybrid allowed). The company is entering its next phase of growth and is seeking a hands-on, entrepreneurial Chief Financial Officer to build a scalable finance organisation and support its strategic development.

Key Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for Finance, Accounting and Controlling.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, multi-year planning and performance analysis.
• Build and automate reporting processes, KPI dashboards and management information.
• Translate financial and operational performance into clear recommendations for management and investors.
• Develop a scalable finance structure and build a high-performing internal finance team.
• Improve finance processes, systems and tools, including the use of automation and AI.
• Support financing, refinancing, acquisitions and post-merger integration.
• Act as a strategic sparring partner to management, shareholders and the advisory board.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial information, governance and compliance.

CFO Profile

• Previous experience as a CFO, Finance Director or VP Finance with overall responsibility for a finance function.
• Ideally, experience within a private equity-backed software, SaaS or technology company.
• Proven ability to build, scale and lead a finance organisation.
• Strong experience across M&A, due diligence, financing, refinancing and post-merger integration.
• Experience working directly with shareholders, boards and private equity investors.
• Strong knowledge of SaaS KPIs, unit economics and HGB; IFRS experience is advantageous.
• Familiarity with modern ERP, BI and FP&A systems.
• A Transaction Services, Financial Advisory or Big Four background would be beneficial.
• Entrepreneurial and strategic mindset combined with a highly hands-on approach.
• Business fluent in German and English.
