The impact that you will be making

We are looking for a highly strategic, execution-oriented, and operationally strong Engineering Operations Lead who will work closely with the Senior Vice President of Engineering as a trusted partner and operational proxy. This role will function as the “Chief of Staff” to the SVP Engineering and will play a pivotal role in driving organizational effectiveness, execution rigor, operational maturity, and cross-functional alignment across the engineering organization.

Operating at the intersection of engineering, product, delivery, business operations, governance, and organizational strategy, this individual will help ensure that critical priorities are translated into structured execution plans, operating mechanisms are institutionalized, and organizational initiatives move forward with clarity, accountability, and measurable outcomes.

This is a high-visibility and high-impact role that requires strong business acumen, exceptional stakeholder management capabilities, operational discipline, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence across teams without direct authority.

In This Role, You Will

Act as a strategic partner to the SVP Engineering

• Serve as a trusted advisor and operational right-hand to the SVP Engineering on strategic, operational, and organizational priorities.
• Partner closely with the SVP to drive execution across key transformation initiatives, engineering priorities, organizational programs, and leadership agendas.
• Translate high-level engineering strategy into actionable execution plans with clear milestones, ownership structures, governance mechanisms, and measurable outcomes.
• Function as an extension of the SVP Engineering in internal operational discussions, reviews, escalations, and follow-ups.
• Represent the office of the SVP Engineering in forums requiring operational alignment, decision-making, and execution governance.

• Build and institutionalize scalable operational rhythms across the engineering organization including planning cadences, governance reviews, execution tracking, dashboards, and leadership reviews.
• Drive operational maturity by introducing structured processes, execution frameworks, metrics, and governance models across teams.
• Improve organizational visibility into execution health, delivery predictability, engineering productivity, quality, utilization, and strategic initiative progress.
• Establish mechanisms for proactive identification and resolution of operational bottlenecks, execution risks, and cross-functional dependencies.
• Continuously improve operational effectiveness through process optimization, better collaboration models, and stronger execution discipline.

• Drive and coordinate complex cross-functional initiatives spanning engineering, product management, architecture, QA, infrastructure, security, delivery, customer-facing teams, and business stakeholders.
• Ensure organizational initiatives maintain momentum through strong governance, accountability, prioritization, and follow-through.
• Facilitate alignment between engineering priorities, business goals, resource capacity, and execution timelines.
• Track critical action items, dependencies, escalations, and organizational commitments to ensure timely closure.
• Support large-scale engineering transformation initiatives, organizational restructuring efforts, modernization programs, and operational improvement initiatives.

• Enable the engineering leadership team to operate more effectively through structured planning, communication, coordination, and operational governance.
• Support leadership operating mechanisms including strategy discussions, business reviews, operational reviews, planning sessions, and leadership meetings.
• Prepare executive-ready dashboards, presentations, reports, summaries, and operational insights for senior management and leadership forums.
• Drive accountability across leadership action items and organizational priorities.
• Strengthen collaboration and alignment across globally distributed teams and functions.

• Coordinate and drive alignment across multiple functions including operations, finance, HR, engineering, delivery, customer success, and business leadership teams.
• Ensure transparent communication, proactive follow-ups, and effective stakeholder management across geographies.
• Facilitate leadership discussions, decision-making forums, and cross-functional reviews.
• Build strong working relationships with senior leaders and teams across the organization.

• Define, monitor, and continuously improve operational KPIs, dashboards, and reporting frameworks for the engineering organization.
• Analyze engineering trends, delivery metrics, operational data, and execution patterns to support strategic and operational decision-making.
• Build executive visibility into organizational priorities, execution risks, engineering capacity, and operational health indicators.
• Partner with engineering and business leaders to identify opportunities for operational improvements, efficiency gains, and better execution outcomes.
• Enable a culture of measurement, accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

• Help the engineering organization scale effectively during periods of rapid growth, transformation, restructuring, or expansion.
• Drive operational alignment during organizational evolution, new operating model implementation, and process transformation initiatives.
• Support the definition and operationalization of new team structures, governance mechanisms, communication frameworks, and execution models.
• Enable stronger collaboration between platform/product engineering teams and customer-focused engineering teams.
• Contribute to initiatives focused on engineering culture, leadership effectiveness, organizational maturity, process improvement, and knowledge management.

• Serve as a central coordination point between engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders across the organization.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Technology, Business Management, or a related field.
• MBA or equivalent management qualification is preferred.
• 10+ years of overall experience with significant experience in engineering operations, strategy & operations, program management, PMO, chief of staff roles, or technology leadership support functions.
• Prior experience working closely with senior engineering leadership or executive stakeholders is highly preferred.
• Experience in high-growth SaaS, AI/ML, product engineering, or technology-driven organizations is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated success in driving large-scale operational initiatives and cross-functional execution programs.
• Strong proficiency in governance management, operational reporting, executive communication, and program tracking.
• Experience with agile methodologies, engineering planning frameworks, and operational cadences.
• High proficiency with collaboration and productivity tools including Jira, Confluence, spreadsheets, dashboards, and presentation tools.
