Associate Director of Business Development

This role will be located at our facilities in either Phoenix, Arizona or Flagstaff, Arizona.
Responsibilities
- Lead inorganic growth strategy aligned to Business Group and enterprise priorities
- Translate market and innovation trends into actionable investment roadmaps
- Integrate build, buy, partner pathways to optimize portfolio value
- Drive white space analysis to identify unmet needs and new opportunities
- Prioritize targets using strategic, clinical, regulatory, and financial criteria
- Develop investment theses, business cases, and valuation frameworks
- Partner cross-functionally to build financial models and executive decision support
- Build external partnerships and advance opportunities into deal pipeline
- Drive aspects of transaction evaluation to include strategic fit assessment, market analysis, competative review and risk identification; and deliver data-backed recommendations on capital allocation and priorities
- Drive continuous improvement of strategy tools, processes, and best practices
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 7 years in product/portfolio or technical management, preferably, within medical devices, life sciences, healthcare technology or digital health
- Experience developing a business case and financial model
- Strong knowledge of markets, regulatory pathways, and commercialization
- Influences senior leaders; clearly presents complex trade-offs
- Communicates risks and assumptions; simplifies complex concepts
- High integrity; trusted with sensitive strategic information
- Structured thinker; thrives in ambiguity and drives clarity
- Manages stakeholders; prioritizes and advances work with urgency
- Continuous improvement mindset; drives operational excellence
- Ability to travel up to 20%
- MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Experience supporting corporate strategy, M&A, due diligence, or ventures (preferred)
- Experience assessing digital/AI technologies and building roadmaps
