Head of Operations

Responsibility

• Manage day-to-day retail brokerage operations and lead a team covering the US equities market (may expand to other market and products subject to business' expansion).
• Ensure high operational efficiency and full compliance with AFSA regulations and internal policies across all functions.
• Maintain and update operational SOPs and manuals to support new product rollouts and regulatory changes.
• Ensure all settlement transactions are processed in compliance with relevant regulators and in-house policies.
• Liaise with external parties such as banks and exchange, as well as internal counterparts including Dealing and Compliance teams.
• Partner with Product and Tech teams to drive mid-to-back-office system automation and streamline workflows.
• Participate in system development projects, UAT.
• Structure the team effectively, define clear responsibilities, and groom high-potential staff for future key roles.
• Assist in ad-hoc projects and tasks assigned by management.

Requirement

• Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or related disciplines.
• At least 7 years of experience in brokerage operations and/or settlement, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
• Solid knowledge of AFSA regulations, AML guidelines.
• Strong track record in writing SOPs and driving system optimisation projects.
• Strong understanding of KAZ and US securities markets and relevant regulations.
• Strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail and able to work independently with multi-tasking.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• Good command of written and spoken Russian, Kazakh & English
