Company Overview

State and Liberty is an athletic fit, performance fabric menswear brand that caters to a niche customer base in the ready-to-wear and made-to-measure clothing market. Our mission is to provide those with an athletic build the fit and feel they deserve in their dress clothing. We provide a wide range of clothing but ultimately focus on men's suiting and shirting.

Who You Are

  • You possess an entrepreneurial spirit and a business-ownership mentality.
  • You execute on and take full ownership of your work, seeing everything through to the end.
  • You embrace change. When a process is broken or a problem lands on your plate, your first instinct is to get your hands on it and figure it out.
  • You are technically curious and self-sufficient. You would rather learn a tool and build the fix yourself than wait for someone else to do it.
  • You have leaned into AI as a force multiplier and you are excited to push how far it can take you.
  • You thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
  • You possess leadership skills and lead from the front, pushing others and teaching them to push themselves, with the desire to be challenged and grow as a leader.
  • You have a 'no task is too small' attitude.
  • You enjoy having fun and laughing often, all while maintaining a competitive, hard-working environment.

Position Overview

This is not a hands-off project management role. As a member of the Special Projects team, you are on the forefront of driving innovation at State & Liberty. You will own the problems that matter most, the ones that are broken, inefficient, or have never been built before, and you will see them through from diagnosis to solution.

You will not manage work from a distance. You will get hands-on with the actual process, learn it better than anyone in the building, and then go build something better. The solutions you design and the changes you ship will directly shape how this business operates and grows over the next five years. If you want a role where your work makes a visible, lasting difference, this is it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Immersion: Learn the process you are improving inside and out, hands-on, until you understand it better than anyone. You cannot fix what you do not truly understand.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Identify and address the underlying issues our business faces using the 5 Whys and other structured problem-solving methods. Fix the cause, not the symptom.
  • Solution Design and Build: Design practical solutions and get your hands dirty building them. Leverage AI, internal tools, and whatever else moves the work forward.
  • Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, goals, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Resource Management: Allocate and manage project resources, including personnel, budget, and equipment.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Change Management: Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and objectives while keeping stakeholders aligned and bought in.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure deliverables meet our standards and actually solve the problem they were built to solve.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and meeting notes.

Qualifications

  • A bias toward action and a track record of seeing problems through to the end.
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
  • Self-sufficiency and a willingness to get technical and learn new tools quickly.
  • Proficiency with Claude, including a strong grasp of prompting, and familiarity with (or genuine eagerness to learn) Claude Code and working in the terminal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, or the aptitude to learn it quickly.
  • Excellent time-management skills.
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Benefits

  • Comprehensive health insurance package with an employer contribution
  • 401K available after 1 year of employment
  • Employee Discount
  • Opportunity to be a critical member at a people-centric, fast-growing company
