Position Summary
We are in search of a reliable, knowledgeable, and passionate individual to become part of our team. As kitchen manager, you help lead to make sure our team works cohesively and that our kitchen runs efficiently. You will use your leadership skills to motivate employees and ensure that they are well-supported in their role. You will encourage team building and always be willing to work right along the side of our team to ensure efficiency, exceptional quality food, and maintain proper sanitation. A positive attitude, forward thinking, leadership abilities, and high-volume production experience will ensure your success.
Qualifications
- 21+ years old
- Food Handler certification, ServSafe Manager preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years experience restaurant kitchen
- 2+ years experience in management
- Availability for nights and weekends

- Strong organization and time management skills
- Ability to maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers, customers and food vendors
- Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, procedures, knife skills, etc
- Effective verbal and written communication
- The ability to regularly stand, walk, talk, carry, bend, stoop, turn and lift in excess of 35lbs
- Knowledge of proper storage and food handling procedures
- Lead by example and motivate others with constructive feedback.
- Ability to train new hires and continually develop staff
- Knowledge of sanitation systems to maintain cleanliness.
- Friendly attitude and composure in high stress & fast paced situations
- Experience with purchasing, inventory, and food cost management preferred
Essential Job Functions
- Collaborate with GM in all culinary operations
- Enforce health and safety regulations, including food handling, sanitation, and workplace safety protocols
- Implement and execute kitchen operational systems and SOPs
- Help manage recipes and monitor portion control to minimize waste
- Place food orders, maintain proper inventory levels and conduct regular inventory counts
- Cooking menu items on the line
- Preparing food items for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meats, or prepping sauces & other foods)
- Manage food orders for in-house catering events
- Conduct regular inspections of food products, equipment, and storage areas to maintain cleanliness, safety, and hygiene standards
- Maintain productive relationships with vendors and FOH staff
- Supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff
- Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and update menus, recipes, and specials based on customer preferences, seasonal availability, and cost considerations
- Ability to interface with POS software KDS system (handheld ordering system)
Non-Essential Job Functions
- Organizing/filing essential paperwork
- Accurate record keeping
- Basic equipment repair/mechanical aptitude
- Assisting in cleanliness/upkeep of full restaurant as needed
- Working remote events as required
- Assisting with large in-house events as well as general large reservations
Job Conditions
- Restaurant & Kitchen environment
- Indoor space with additional outdoor patio seating
- Required to be on your feet for 5-9 hours per shift
- Occasionally work both inside and outside
- Standard bar & restaurant conditions (i.e. wet floors, cold storage, etc)
