Academic Team Leader

The foodigIT project is looking for an Academic Team Leader to join our dynamic and growing team.

About The Role

We are looking for a visionary researcher with a strong interdisciplinary background to help co-lead the scientific development of the newly established Center for Computational Food Science and Digital Transformation.

As a close partner to Professor József Baranyi, the foodigIT ERA Chair holder, the selected candidate will play a key role in shaping the Center’s scientific direction, building and mentoring a world-class team, and driving impactful research at the intersection of food science and digital technologies.

Who We’re Looking For

The Ideal Candidate Will Bring

• A solid academic background in Food Science, combined with expertise in Computational Modeling, Artificial Intelligence, and/or Application Development applied to food systems
• Proven experience in scientific leadership and academic team building within research or innovation-driven environments
• A strong record of interdisciplinary collaboration, research strategy, and publications in high-impact journals

This is not a project management role, we are looking for a research leader who will work shoulder-to-shoulder with Prof. Baranyi to develop and lead advanced scientific work within the foodigIT ecosystem.
