The State of New Hampshire, Department of Corrections, Division of Administration, Facility Logistical Services has a full-time vacancy for Kitchen Supervisor I.

Summary

Supervises subordinate employees and inmate workers in a large correctional kitchen and provides training and education programming in all aspect of food service at the New Hampshire State Prison for Men (NHSPM); while working in close and immediate contact with prisoners on a daily basis, having responsibility for security. This position may be required to provide assistance at the New Hampshire Correctional Facility for Womens kitchen on an as-needed basis.

YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

Other Information

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education/Experience:** Equivalent combination of 4 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in culinary arts, large-quantity cookery, food services, restaurant management, or a related field.
• License/Certification:** Valid drivers license or have access to transportation for statewide travel.
• Other Requirements:** Pass security and background screenings required for correctional environments.
• Trainee Option:** Candidates with an equivalent combination of 3+ years of relevant education and experience after completion of high school may be considered and hired in trainee status for this position.
• PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:** Possession of ServSafe Food Protection Manager.

After-hire Requirements

Successful completion of the Corrections Academy within 12 months of hire and continuing certification as correctional line personnel as established by the certifying authority.[]{sty=""}
