Systems Administrator | Lincoln, Nebraska
Approximately $60,000–$80,000 Base Salary + Annual Bonus
You may be the Systems Administrator everyone depends on—the person who understands the servers, users, hardware, and how the entire environment fits together.
But instead of building something, you may be spending most of your time maintaining what already exists.
Our client is an established global manufacturing organization creating a dedicated Information Systems function for one of its major business divisions. They need an experienced, hands-on Systems Administrator who can help transition infrastructure and support responsibilities into the new team and potentially grow into leadership as the department develops.
This is a ground-floor opportunity, but you won’t be walking into it alone. You’ll work with experienced technology leaders, learn an established environment, and gradually take greater ownership across systems, hardware, virtualization, connectivity, security, and end-user support.
You’ll support approximately 800 users and work across the full systems administration landscape.
The right person will be technically broad, approachable, patient, and confident enough to enforce sound IT practices—even when someone would prefer a shortcut.
You’ll likely bring:
- Approximately eight to ten years of progressive IT experience.
- Several years of systems administration responsibility.
- Strong Windows and Active Directory experience.
- VMware and server virtualization experience.
- Hands-on experience across servers, workstations, hardware, and end-user support.
- Exposure to networking, switches, backups, connectivity, and security.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to support users throughout the business.
- The desire to remain hands-on while growing toward leadership.
Manufacturing experience is helpful but not required. An associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred, although equivalent experience will be considered.
Why Consider It?
- Help build a developing infrastructure and support function.
- Work across the full systems environment rather than one narrow specialty.
- Learn from an experienced internal technology team.
- Help train future team members as the department grows.
- Earn consideration for a supervisory role after mastering the environment.
- Join a stable organization with strong benefits and long-tenured employees.
Compensation and Logistics
- Approximately $60,000–$80,000 base salary.
- Higher compensation may be considered for an exceptional candidate.
- Annual bonus opportunity historically around one month of salary, based on company performance and not guaranteed.
- Strong health insurance, 401(k), PTO, paid holidays, and on-site amenities.
- On-site position in Lincoln, Nebraska.
- Limited on-call responsibility, typically handled remotely.
- Relocation assistance may be available.
