Job Summary

As a Sr. System Engineer, you will work you are the go-to person to roll out and maintain business critical applications and services for Supermicro. You are also responsible for resolving escalated service issues, coaching other engineers to resolutions, engineering and implementing complex projects. You will be a person who is independent with leadership to drive the technical development and with excellent communication skills.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Provide technical consults to optimize overall system performance based on the customer network/OS infrastructure when ODM customer report issue or ask for help
• Promptly support the issue's duplication and clarification reported by production and ODM/customized customer
• Teamwork with related RD and Lab to find out the root cause.
• Support system performance evaluation during New Product Introduction (NPI), POC and tradeshow.
• Support the phase in of the customized hardware testing and OS installation requested by enterprise customers.
• Troubleshooting Hardware/Firmware problems reported by customers .
• Write debug program by using shell script to figure out the hardware issues efficiently
• Handle big OEM account independently as a role of PM if interested

• Education: BS/MS EE, CE, CS, or other engineering fields.
• 5+ years of server technology related experience
• Experienced in configuring server systems or OEM business for electronic appliances.
• Extensive Linux OS/VMWare knowledge. Advanced Knowledge of standard sever/ workstation hardware/software
• Strong hardware troubleshooting skills.
• Strong disciplinary attitude to target issue fix in time
• Ability to work independently with customer but teamwork with colleagues.
• Experience with Bash scripting, familiar with Linux
