Server Support Engineer

Responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and supporting enterprise server infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and performance across business environments. The role includes server administration, troubleshooting, infrastructure monitoring, backup management, patching, virtualization support, and coordination with vendors and internal IT teams.

Responsibilities

• Monitor server and storage infrastructure performance using enterprise monitoring tools
• Track utilization, availability, and system health, and take corrective actions for threshold breaches
• Ensure maximum server uptime and system reliability for end users
• Perform routine maintenance activities to minimize infrastructure downtime
• Execute planned infrastructure changes through standard change management processes
• Maintain server inventory, asset records, and infrastructure documentation as per organizational standards
• Provide Level-1 technical support and troubleshoot server-related issues
• Manage server assets, support contracts, and vendor escalation coordination
• Monitor system resource utilization, capacity trends, and performance metrics
• Configure, install, and maintain Windows Servers and related infrastructure services
• Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, SFTP, and backup solutions
• Perform OS and application patching, upgrades, hotfix installations, and configuration backups
• Support backup and recovery operations using Veeam Backup solutions
• Assist in virtualization and storage management activities, including Nutanix and NAS environments
• Execute disaster recovery testing activities according to defined DR policies
• Ensure infrastructure changes are implemented in compliance with configuration and security standards
• Coordinate with vendors and internal IT teams for issue resolution and infrastructure support
• Maintain operational stability, system security, and service availability across server environments

Required Skill Set

• Strong knowledge of Windows Server Administration
• Hands-on experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, and SFTP configuration
• Experience with backup and recovery tools such as Veeam
• Knowledge of OS patch management and server maintenance activities
• Understanding of server monitoring, utilization tracking, and infrastructure troubleshooting
• Experience supporting enterprise server infrastructure environments
• Familiarity with change management and configuration management processes
• Good understanding of server security, availability, and performance optimization
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Good communication and coordination abilities
• Ability to work with vendors, internal teams, and support stakeholders effectively

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to Nutanix virtualization platforms
• Knowledge of NAS storage administration
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure Cloud technologies
• Understanding of disaster recovery and business continuity processes
• Experience working in enterprise IT infrastructure environments
• Basic knowledge of server capacity planning and infrastructure optimization

B.Tech / B.E / BCA / MCA / B.Sc (IT / Computer Science) / Equivalent Qualification
