The Role
As a Linux Systems Administrator at Kyndryl, you’ll be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing Linux-based operating systems in enterprise production environments. In this role, you ensure system stability, performance, and availability while providing operational support aligned with defined service levels.
You will work hands-on with Linux servers, resolving incidents, performing system maintenance, and collaborating with cross‑functional infrastructure teams. Your work directly supports reliable service delivery, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement across Kyndryl-managed environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support Linux operating systems (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE) in production environments.
- Install, configure, harden, and maintain Linux servers to ensure security, stability, and performance.
- Monitor systems proactively and resolve incidents within established SLAs through effective troubleshooting and log analysis.
- Perform operating system patching, updates, and basic automation to support availability and capacity management.
- Document operational procedures and collaborate closely with database, middleware, cloud, and storage teams.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- At least 6 months of experience supporting Linux operating systems in operational or production environments.
- Hands-on experience with Linux server installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Experience managing incidents and troubleshooting system, service, and performance issues.
- Basic administration of services such as systemd, cron, SSH, NFS, Samba, and Apache.
- Intermediate English proficiency for technical communication and documentation.
- Knowledge of user, permissions, and security management (sudo, ACLs, SELinux – desirable).
- Basic scripting skills for automation (Bash – desirable).
- Experience working with monitoring tools and proactive availability support.
- RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator) or higher-level certification.
- Experience documenting operational procedures and working within cross‑functional teams.
