The Opportunity
UST is looking for a Lab Technician to provide intermediate-level lab support for Client validation environments. The role involves system recovery, hardware diagnostics, firmware upgrades, server provisioning, lab infrastructure maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and operational readiness of validation systems.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform intermediate lab support activities including system recovery, hardware diagnostics, firmware upgrades, and OS deployment.
- Configure RAID, BMC/iLO, servers, network connectivity, power distribution, PDU, and KVM infrastructure.
- Perform server setup, machine provisioning, and Device Under Test (DUT) troubleshooting.
- Manage machine lifecycle activities, including system recovery, hardware replacement, upgrades, and decommissioning.
- Analyze system logs, identify hardware and software issues, and restore failed machines to production-ready status.
- Support Client engineering teams by responding to lab support requests and ensuring timely issue resolution.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, coordinate equipment logistics, and ensure asset accountability.
- Maintain lab infrastructure, equipment readiness, and adherence to operational standards.
- Document recovery procedures, troubleshooting activities, and technical changes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for recovery procedures, lab operations, and operational efficiency.
- Support and achieve operational KPIs related to lab readiness, machine recovery, inventory accuracy, and infrastructure maintenance.

- Experience supporting hardware validation or engineering lab environments.
- Knowledge of server hardware, storage systems, and firmware management.
- Familiarity with monitoring and remote management tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Experience with hardware lifecycle management and lab infrastructure maintenance.
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineering and cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
