Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to manage and optimize our IT infrastructure across Linux and Windows environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in systems administration, virtualization, storage, database, and network management, with a strong focus on ensuring reliability, security, and scalability of infrastructure services.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing Linux and Windows serve environments, managing enterprise-grade virtualization on private cloud platforms, and handling storage solutions and database systems. You will play a key role in maintaining network integrity, implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies, and supporting overall infrastructure performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Linux and Windows Administration

• Software RAID installation and configuration
• OS patches update and fix vulnerability

Linux services management

• Tacacs configuration and management
• Radius and RadMan configuration and management
• DNS servers management (bind9)
• DNS records management
• Docker installation and configuration
• Apache and/or Nginx configuration and management
• Managing PHP modules, including php-fpm
• Auto time synchronization (Chroync) across networks
• Speedtest server configuration and management ○ Redis server configuration and management
• VPN server configuration and management, client-side VPN configuration
• Snipe-IT management application installation and configuration
• Outline tool configuration and management

Virtualization on private cloud

• Manage the Data Center Hosts via OpenNebula private cloud computing platform
• Virtual Machine creation as per the needs of the infrastructure
• Virtual Machine Template creation
• Image Template creation
• Hot and Cold Virtual Machine migrations
• Image creation from snapshot
• Restore VM through snapshot

Database Administration

• Database (MySQL and/or MariaDB) Administration including installation, upgrade and maintenance.
• MySQL replication.
• MySQL database backup and restoration.

Network Administration

• Virtual network configuration
• NIC Bonding configuration
• Bridge, VLAN installation and configuration

Monitoring

• Monitoring tools Observium, Grafana, Telegraf
• Monitoring of File Systems
• Monitoring system performance and capacity planning
• Monitoring of services

Security

• Firewall Management
• Managing SSL certificates
• Port Management

Required Competencies:

• In-depth knowledge of one or more Linux: CentOS, Alma Linux, Ubuntu, Redhat, etc.
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of KVM Hypervisor
• Bash Scripting knowledge is a must
• GitHub knowledge
• Basic understanding for managing Windows servers
• Experience with any storage management system will be beneficial
• Experience with Storpool will be a great advantage
• Experience with any backup system, preferably Bareos
• Knowledge of ITIL and DevOps processes will be an added advantage
• Able and willing to create and maintain SOPs and HOWTO documentation
• Has the ability to work alone for all the troubleshooting part
• Good R&D skills
• Excellent analytical & problem solving & decision making skills.
• Business proficiency in English and excellent communication skills, both written and spoken

Work Experience & Qualifications

● Degree in Computer Science or related field.

● Proven work experience as Sys admin of 10+ years.
