We are looking for a Linux Administrator to join our HFT team. This role manages and optimizes bare-metal Linux servers that power our trading systems. It’s not regular IT infrastructure — here, microseconds matter, and the focus is on performance tuning and stability. You’ll work closely with systems connected directly to stock exchanges, handling real-time market data and order flow. Stability and low latency during live market hours are extremely critical. This is a high-ownership role. During market hours, the systems must be extremely stable. You’ll be involved in monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues quickly because downtime directly impacts trading. You’ll work very closely with developers, quants, and trading teams to optimize infrastructure performance and support new strategy deployments. Responsibilities
- Perform regular health checks and monitoring of overall infrastructure
- Configure, deploy, and manage Linux services on bare-metal servers
- Manage and maintain SLURM clusters and distributed storage system
- Handle networking setup including routing, VLANs, bonding, and NIC tuning
- Server provisioning, OS installation, and infrastructure standardization
- Manage drivers, packages, kernel modules, and firmware updates
- Perform performance tuning, overclocking, and low-latency optimizations
- Benchmark different kernels, server configurations, and hardware setups
- Automate routine operational tasks using scripts and configuration tools
- Troubleshoot system, network, and performance-related issues Required Skills
- Hands-on experience with Linux system administration (RHEL/CentOS/Rocky/Alma)
- Basic understanding of server hardware, BIOS, firmware, and networking
- Knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, routing, and VLANs
- Shell scripting (Bash); Python is a plus
- Exposure to automation tools like Ansible or similar
- Familiarity with performance and benchmarking tools (fio, iperf, sysbench, perf)
- Exposure to SLURM or HPC environments
- Knowledge of distributed storage (Ceph, GlusterFS, Lustre, NFS)
- Understanding of kernel tuning, NUMA, CPU pinning, and HugePages
- Experience with low-latency or high-performance computing environments
- Exposure to data center or bare-metal infrastructure
