Position Overview

We are seeking a Data Center Technician to provide on-site, hands-on support within an enterprise data center environment for a public-sector organization. This role supports daily data center operations, hardware lifecycle activities, and infrastructure reliability in a highly available, security-focused setting.


The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically capable, and comfortable working in a 24x7, mission-critical environment supporting infrastructure that directly enables public safety operations.


This is a full-time, 100% onsite role in Orange County, California.


Key Responsibilities

Data Center Operations & Support

  • Perform hands-on rack and stack, cabling, and physical installation of servers, network devices, and storage systems
  • Support data center moves, adds, and changes (MAC activities)
  • Assist with hardware lifecycle management including deployments, upgrades, and decommissioning
  • Monitor and support power, cooling, and environmental systems within the data center
  • Maintain clean, organized racks and cable management in accordance with data center standards

Infrastructure & Network Support

  • Provide physical-layer support for network and server infrastructure
  • Assist with connectivity troubleshooting, port activation, and device validation
  • Support storage, compute, and virtualization teams with on-site implementation tasks
  • Coordinate with network, security, and systems teams during maintenance windows and outages

Incident Response & After-Hours Support

  • Respond to infrastructure incidents and service requests as needed
  • Support after-hours work, overtime, and on-call activities during:
  • Critical outages
  • Maintenance windows
  • Emergency response scenarios
  • Follow established escalation and change-management procedures

Documentation & Compliance

  • Update asset inventories, rack elevations, and data center documentation
  • Follow security, access, and compliance procedures required in regulated environments
  • Support audit readiness by maintaining accurate records and change documentation

Additional Duties

  • Perform other activities reasonably related to data center operations as assigned


Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience supporting enterprise or colocation data center environments
  • Hands-on experience with rack and stack, cabling, and physical infrastructure support
  • Familiarity with servers, networking equipment, and storage hardware
  • Experience working in secure or regulated environments preferred
  • Ability to lift equipment (up to ~50 lbs) and work in data center environments
  • Ability to work full-time onsite in Orange County, CA
