The Infrastructure Architect III provides advanced engineering expertise across networking, virtualization, cloud, storage, Linux and Windows systems, enterprise security technologies, and automation initiatives to maintain a highly available operational baseline and support technology modernization efforts.
Job Responsibilities
- Enterprise Infrastructure Architecture
- Design, implement, and maintain secure enterprise infrastructure architectures supporting DCO weapon systems.
- Develop scalable Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) cloud architectures.
- Architect solutions supporting virtualization platforms, storage, networking, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Evaluate and recommend infrastructure improvements that enhance reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Maintain secure operational baselines across enterprise networking, Windows/Linux servers, VMware virtualization, storage, cloud infrastructure, and security event correlation systems.
- Perform advanced installation, upgrades, patch management, backup, recovery, and post-change validation.
- Maintain configuration baselines, monitor configuration drift, validate recoverability, perform capacity planning, and manage telemetry governance.
- Ensure infrastructure complies with DISA STIGs, RMF, and DoD cybersecurity requirements.
- Support vulnerability remediation, secure configuration management, Authorization & Accreditation (A&A), and RMF stakeholders.
- Develop automation supporting Checklist-as-Code, infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and workflow automation.
- Support AI-assisted operational workflows and technology modernization initiatives.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field. Additional experience may substitute for education.
Certification: CASP+, CCNP Security, CCSP, GCIA, GCED, GCIH or Legacy Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Experience:
- Minimum of 9 years of progressive enterprise infrastructure experience.
- Experience supporting DoD or Federal environments.
- Experience with networking, virtualization, Windows/Linux administration, cloud infrastructure, storage, cybersecurity infrastructure, automation, and high availability.
- Experience architecting and sustaining enterprise infrastructure for Department of the Air Force DCO systems, DAFIN-SOC environments, or comparable 24x7 cyber mission operations.
- Advanced expertise with VMware, hybrid cloud platforms, enterprise storage, Windows/Linux systems, network security technologies, and infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, or Python.
- Demonstrated experience implementing DISA STIGs, supporting RMF and A&A activities, automating compliance through Checklist-as-Code, and maintaining secure, highly available DoD infrastructure.
