Devops/Application Production Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Devops/Application Production Engineer to join a team responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of critical enterprise applications. You will work across infrastructure, middleware, databases, monitoring, automation, and production support environments, helping to maintain highly available systems while driving operational excellence and reliability.
Work Model: Hybrid (2 days per week in the office – Porto)
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and support production applications and infrastructure.
- Manage and maintain application servers, middleware platforms, and operating systems across Windows and Linux environments.
- Automate operational tasks using scripting languages such as Shell, Python, and PowerShell.
- Support scheduling and batch processing activities using Control-M or similar enterprise schedulers.
- Administer and optimize web and application servers, including JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, and IIS.
- Collaborate with development teams to support application deployments and production releases.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity using monitoring and observability tools.
- Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and problem resolution activities.
- Contribute to infrastructure automation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with infrastructure, database, network, and security teams to ensure application reliability and operational efficiency.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in Application Support, Production Engineering, Operations, or similar roles.
- Strong knowledge of both Linux and Windows environments and systems administration.
- Experience with BMC/Control-M or other enterprise scheduling solutions.
- Good scripting skills using Shell, Python, and/or PowerShell.
- Experience administering JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, or IIS.
- Experience with databases such as Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server, and/or MySQL.
- Knowledge of infrastructure backup processes and technologies.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Grafana, or similar solutions.
- Knowledge of LDAP, Active Directory, Kerberos, Firewalls, and Reverse Proxies.
- Understanding of container-based infrastructures.
- Basic networking knowledge.
- DevOps mindset and willingness to contribute to automation and operational improvements.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Professional proficiency in English (minimum B2).
