Job Summary:
We are looking for a Unix Administrator to provide day-to-day administration and support for Unix/Linux server. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining server availability, troubleshooting system issues, performing routine maintenance, and supporting production environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Administer and support Unix/Linux servers in production and non-production environments.
• Monitor system performance, server health, and availability.
• Perform user administration, file system management, and access control.
• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Troubleshoot system, application, and performance issues.
• Perform routine maintenance, backup verification, and capacity monitoring.
• Support incident, problem, and change management activities.
• Maintain system documentation and operational procedures.
• Coordinate with client teams and internal support teams to resolve issues.
• Participate in on-call support as required.
Required Skills
• 8 - 10 years of experience in Unix/Linux administration.
• Good knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems (RHEL, Oracle Linux, Solaris, or AIX).
• Experience with shell scripting (Bash/Korn Shell).
• Understanding of file systems, user management, permissions, and networking basics.
• Familiarity with monitoring and ticketing tools.
• Basic knowledge of virtualization and cloud environments is an advantage.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Unix/Linux certification is a plus (RHCSA, RHCE, Oracle Linux, etc.).
