We are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the organization’s server infrastructure. This role ensures high availability, reliable performance, and strong security across on-premises and cloud-based systems. The Senior System Administrator also provides technical leadership, mentors junior team members, and collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to deliver stable, scalable, and secure IT services.
Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, and maintain Windows and Linux server environments, including physical, virtual, and cloud-based platforms.
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and identity-related services.
- Administer virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, or equivalent), ensuring performance, capacity planning, and resource optimization.
- Oversee patching strategies, OS upgrades, and lifecycle management for server systems.
- Monitor server performance, logs, and alerts; troubleshoot and resolve complex systems issues.
- Implement and enforce security best practices, including hardening, access controls, vulnerability remediation, and compliance with organizational standards.
- Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning, including routine testing and documentation.
- Collaborate on infrastructure roadmaps and recommend improvements for performance, reliability, security, and scalability.
- Maintain detailed system documentation, diagrams, and operation procedures.
- Provide tier-3 support for escalated incidents and mentor junior administrators.
- Participate in on-call rotation as required.
- 5-7 + years of experience administering enterprise-level server environments.
- Strong proficiency with Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Expertise with virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere or Hyper-V.
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file systems, and Group Policy.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls).
- Experience with backups and disaster recovery technologies.
- Ability to manage complex technical projects with minimal supervision.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Self-starter.
