Indexed description

We're looking for a DevOps / Infrastructre engineer who isn't content to just keep things running. Our infrastructure works well, but there's real room to make it faster, safer, and more automated, and we want someone who treats that as the interesting part of the job rather than a chore.

In practice, that means reaching for automation before manual work, thinking in terms of reproducible systems instead of one-off fixes, and being willing to rebuild something properly rather than patch it again. Cloud, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and increasingly AI-assisted tooling are changing how this work gets done, and we want someone who keeps pace and puts it to good use.

We work as a tight-knit team, so everyone on the technical side pitches in on the everyday IT that keeps the office and people working, and you'd be part of that. It's shared across the team rather than landing on one person, and it isn't the main focus of the role.

In return, you get genuine ownership of the infrastructure, a direct line to the CTO, and the freedom to shape how the role is done. We don't micromanage, we hire people we trust and give them room to do the job well.

Who We Are

Mozaik isn't really a marketing agency. Or not only that. We're the partner brands call when they want to actually grow, not just tick a box marked "advertising."

For over 20 years, creativity has been in our DNA. We've built entire brands from nothing: the name, the logo, the stores, the look, every piece of material. Then we've taken them to market and run the whole thing, from social and performance to TV and radio. Strategists, creatives, developers, and analysts, all under one roof, so the big idea and the numbers behind it never live in separate rooms.

We work with ambitious brands across a real mix of sectors, from retail and e-commerce to hospitality, travel, real estate, and B2B. Different industries, different challenges, one job: find the opportunities they're missing, sharpen how they show up, and turn that into results they can see. We don't just sell products for people. We build brands, solve real business problems, and make an impact.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud & Infrastructure

  • Own and operate our infrastructure across Microsoft Azure, Hetzner, and Vercel.
  • Move us toward infrastructure-as-code so environments are reproducible and changes are safe and repeatable.
  • Provision, configure, patch, and maintain servers and services, apply OS upgrades, and keep tooling current.
  • Keep an eye on cloud costs across providers and drive them down where it makes sense.
  • CI/CD & Automation
  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
  • Take care of our Active Directory environment, the hybrid setup of on-prem AD 2012 synced with Microsoft 365, along with user and group policies and Exchange Online.

Reliability, Monitoring & Security

  • Level up monitoring, alerting, and observability.
  • Monitor systems daily. Integrity and availability of servers, resources, and key processes, system and application logs, and confirming that scheduled jobs like backups actually completed.
  • Strengthen our backup, restore, and disaster-recovery processes, and actually test the restores.
  • Harden our security posture across providers.

Microsoft / Active Directory

  • Own and manage our hybrid Active Directory estate, as part of the infrastructure, automating and improving it, not just maintaining it.
  • Manage user and group policies, and Office 365 / Exchange Online.

Web Hosting & Operations

  • Manage SSL/TLS certificates (issuance and renewal, e.g. Let's Encrypt).
  • Run public DNS for client-facing sites and company domains: A/AAAA, CNAME, MX, and TXT records, zone and registrar management, and a solid grasp of TTL and propagation.
  • Own email deliverability: SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records, MX and mail-flow configuration, anti-spam, and troubleshooting delivery issues across both Postfix and Exchange Online.
  • Operate Linux services such as LAMP/LEMP, Postfix, iptables, fail2ban, and Node.js services kept alive with PM2.
  • Configure reverse proxy and load balancing (Nginx, HAProxy, or similar).

Also a small part of the role

Everyone on the technical side chips in on the day-to-day IT that keeps the office and people working: VPN, internal file storage, internal Active Directory DNS, router configuration, and helping colleagues with our internal systems, including keeping support tickets up to date. You'd share in that alongside the rest of the team. It's part of the job, but a small one.

Work Experience

  • Solid, hands-on experience operating and automating infrastructure across both Linux and Windows environments, enough that you're comfortable owning systems end to end and troubleshooting your way through the unexpected.
  • Proven ability to independently operate, automate, and troubleshoot infrastructure in production.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD and automation, and the appetite to introduce infrastructure-as-code where it's missing.
  • Comfortable working across multiple cloud providers.
  • Genuinely curious. You like picking up new tools, digging into unfamiliar problems, and getting better at your craft.

Academic

Degrees and certifications matter far less to us than what you can actually do and how eager you are to keep growing. A background in computer science, engineering, or a related field is welcome but not required. Ability and attitude win.

Reporting

DevOps Engineer reports to the CTO.

Location

The position is based in Athens, Greece. Our offices are in Monastiraki, a 3-minute walk from the Metro.

Type of Employment

Hybrid Full-Time: 2 days in-office, 3 days remote (Work from Home).

Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on experience and skills.
  • Career growth opportunities within a creative and technically ambitious team.
  • High-end equipment, chosen to your preferences — whatever you need to do your best work.
  • Real ownership and the freedom to rebuild things properly, not just keep them running.
  • A cool and collaborative work environment with a focus on innovation and excellence.
