Systems Administrator

The System Administrator is responsible for ensuring the stability, reliability, and performance of SMRI IT Infrastructure across multiple platforms. The role not only supports internal systems but also serves as key point of contact for coordinating with IT Shared Services.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain servers, operating systems, and hardware across on-premises (VMware, Sangfor) and cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure, Huawei)
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems, server applications, and hardware to ensure optimal performance
- Monitor and optimize system performance, including resource utilization and capacity planning
- Perform regular system updates, patching, and vulnerability management
- Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery plans
- Coordinate and manage system integration between different platforms
- Automate routine tasks using scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.)
- Provide support for internal teams and end-users, including but not limited to system issues.
- Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.
- Collaborate with IT Shared Services to design, implement and maintain infrastructure solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or any related course
- At least 5 years of experience in systems administration.
- Strong knowledge or expertise of Windows and Linux server environments
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, Sangfor) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, Huawei)
- Experience with automation/configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, etc.)
- Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (SolarWinds, Prometheus, etc.)
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VPN, Routing)
- Relevant system administrator certifications (Microsoft, Linux, AWS) are a plus
