Network Security Engineer

Job Title: Network Security SME

Duration: long-term contract

Location: Poland based Hybrid (6 days in a month to Warsaw/Cracow)

We are looking for an experienced Network Security SME to join a global cybersecurity engineering team, supporting the design, review, and continuous improvement of enterprise network security controls within a highly regulated banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support strategic network security initiatives and security governance.
• Review security designs, firewall rules, and network security documentation, identifying risks and recommending remediation.
• Provide expert guidance on network security, cryptography, and secure network architectures.
• Conduct security risk assessments and collaborate with business and technology teams to improve security posture.
• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards, policies, and best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement across the security team.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with network security technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and proxy solutions.
• Excellent understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, and network protocol analysis.
• Experience reviewing firewall policies, security designs, and network architecture.
• Knowledge of security frameworks, risk management, and security documentation.
• Cloud security experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP is desirable.
• Experience in banking or other highly regulated environments is preferred.
