Network & Security Technical Architect
£60,000 - £75,000
Permanent, Full-time – Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
Location – Newcastle upon Tyne
Overview of the role and position:
Sellick Partnership is delighted to be partnering with a well-established technology services organisation that is investing heavily in its networking and infrastructure capabilities. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Network & Security Technical Architect to join their highly skilled technical team on a permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Architect or Senior Network Engineer looking to take ownership of enterprise networking and security solutions, working on large-scale customer transformation projects across modern infrastructure environments.
As the Technical Architect, you will work closely with customers, project teams and internal stakeholders to design secure, resilient and scalable networking solutions. You'll act as the technical authority throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring solutions are delivered to a high standard and align with both customer requirements and industry best practice.
Key responsibilities of the Network & Security Technical Architect will include:
- Designing enterprise network and security solutions for a variety of customer environments.
- Producing high-level and low-level technical designs, implementation plans and supporting documentation.
- Gathering and analysing customer technical requirements to recommend appropriate solutions.
- Designing modern LAN, WAN and wireless network architectures.
- Delivering secure connectivity and remote access solutions using modern networking technologies.
- Supporting infrastructure transformation and network modernisation programmes.
- Ensuring solutions integrate effectively with existing infrastructure and operational processes.
- Acting as the technical lead throughout project delivery.
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to engineering teams.
- Supporting complex technical escalations where required.
- Ensuring solutions meet security, compliance and operational standards.
- Keeping up to date with emerging networking and cyber security technologies.
Required skills and experience of the Network & Security Technical Architect:
- Previous experience as a Technical Architect, Network Architect or Senior Network Engineer.
- Strong enterprise networking design experience.
- Excellent knowledge of Cisco networking technologies.
- Experience with Cisco Meraki solutions.
- Strong understanding of routing, switching, VPNs, SD-WAN and enterprise wireless.
- Experience designing secure access solutions including SASE and Zero Trust concepts.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID integration and identity-based networking.
- Excellent customer-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience producing technical documentation and solution designs.
- Ability to lead technical workshops and solution presentations.
- Experience within a managed services, consultancy or enterprise technology environment would be advantageous.
- Cisco certifications such as CCNP or CCIE would be highly desirable.
