IT/OT Network Engineer

Senior Infrastructure professional. Oversees mapping the relationships between information systems components (i.e., Technology End Users, IT Systems Software & Hardware, and Info-Communications Transmission Networks).

Job Description

• Manages the development and maintenance of technical architecture including networks, applications, hosting, PC, workstation, and mobile.
• Manages architecture of end-to-end integrated systems and applications. Identifies key technology interactions and dependencies across platforms.
• Manages enterprise-wide guidance on network capabilities and hosting options.
• Manages the installation, configuration, support, and maintenance of software and hardware systems.
• Supports network infrastructure and connectivity requirements across enterprise and manufacturing environments, including collaboration with operational technology (OT) stakeholders where applicable.

Minimum Requirements

• Requires expert to mastery knowledge obtained through advanced education, combined with experience.
• Advanced knowledge of related disciplines within work area and able to identify links and potential impact on projects, programs and systems.
• University Degree or equivalent.
• A minimum of 10 years prior relevant experience OR An advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 7 years experience.
• Experience supporting network infrastructure in manufacturing, industrial, or Operational Technology (OT) environments, including coordination with plant operations, industrial systems, or production networks.
• Data Center Switching: At least 10 years of experience with data center switch environments, preferably with Cisco and/or Arista series.
• Cloud Networking: At least 7 years of hands-on experience with cloud networking platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI.
• Strong project management capabilities demonstrated through the successful execution of network implementations, adherence to deadlines, and budget compliance.
• WAN Physical Connectivity: Experience provisioning, configuring, and troubleshooting edge router WAN circuits (Ethernet).
• Routing Protocols: Proficient with all common routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) in modern network environments.
• Experience supporting Operational Technology (OT) and manufacturing network environments, including industrial network infrastructure and connectivity requirements.
• Experience working in manufacturing, industrial, warehouse, or distribution center environments is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with network segmentation, firewall policy management, and IT/OT network separation concepts.
• At least 8 years of experience using debug/trace commands and understanding their effects on production environments.
• Monitoring: Advanced knowledge of SNMP, Netflow, Syslog, and packet capture techniques.
• Deep understanding of UNIX and Windows networking technologies and associated deployment methodologies.
• Internet Hosting: Expertise in BGP design and implementation for internet hosting, including redundant ISP configurations, BGP load balancing, CIDR advertisements, and prefix filtering with regular expressions.
• Certifications such as CCNP, CCDP, or CCIE RS are highly desirable.
• Demonstrated excellence in communication and a proven track record of providing service delivery to both internal and external clients.
• Wireless: Extensive experience (minimum 8 years) with enterprise wireless networks across varied settings, such as offices, manufacturing, and distribution centers.
• Equipment / Cloud Environment: Broad experience troubleshooting diverse environments and technologies, including but not limited to:
• Cloud: AWS, Azure, OCI, GCP
• Routers: Cisco ASR, 4k, 1100 Series
• Cisco Access Switches: Catalyst 9000, legacy 2900
• Meraki Access & Security Devices: MS390, MX250, Z3, MR56
• Firewall Platforms: Palo Alto, Fortinet
• Experience with Palo Alto management platforms, including Panorama and/or Strata Cloud Manager (SCM), is highly desirable.
