Location: Minneapolis, MN (Onsite)

Job Type: Full-time permanent job


Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Data Center Specialist to support the installation, maintenance, and operation of enterprise data center infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with server hardware, networking, cabling, rack and stack, hardware break/fix, and data center operations. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Data Center Operations or Infrastructure Support

• Hands-on experience with rack & stack of servers, storage, and network devices

• Experience with server hardware from Dell, HPE, Cisco, Lenovo, or IBM

• Strong knowledge of structured cabling (Copper & Fiber)

• Experience with hardware installation, replacement, and break/fix activities

• Knowledge of Windows Server and Linux operating systems

• Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, Switches, Routers)

• Experience with SAN/NAS storage environments

• Familiarity with remote management tools such as iLO, DRAC, or IPMI

• Experience with asset management, inventory tracking, and documentation

• Ability to perform hardware diagnostics and root cause analysis

• Knowledge of UPS systems, PDUs, power management, and environmental monitoring

• Experience following change management and incident management processes

• Strong communication and documentation skills

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and decommission servers, storage, and networking equipment.

• Perform rack & stack activities, cabling, labeling, and documentation.

• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware failures and connectivity issues.

• Monitor data center infrastructure, environmental conditions, and system health.

• Coordinate hardware replacements, upgrades, and preventive maintenance.

• Support operating system installations and firmware upgrades.

• Maintain accurate inventory and asset records.

• Execute change requests in accordance with change management procedures.

• Work with infrastructure, network, and application teams to resolve production issues.

• Ensure compliance with data center security, safety, and operational standards.

• Participate in on-call support and scheduled maintenance activities.
