As a Network & Security Engineer, you’ll take the lead in securing and maintaining networks while optimizing performance and protecting against threats. Your work will ensure the stability and security of our digital solutions for renewable energy sites worldwide.
The position will report to our DNV office in Mexico City, Mexico.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor, maintain, and secure network devices (switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs) to ensure integrity and uptime.
- Design, implement, and manage network security solutions (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs).
- Monitor network traffic and respond to security incidents using security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration tests on network infrastructure to identify and mitigate risks.
- Manage and secure virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V) and apply security protocols
- Collaborate on network design and upgrades to integrate security best practices and policies.
- Assess and improve infrastructure stability, security, and scalability.
- Respond to security breaches, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain security documentation and conduct audits of systems and networks, including policies, procedures, and network diagrams.

About You
What is required (To thrive and succeed)
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- A minimum of three years of experience in network security, cybersecurity, or a similar role
- Knowledge of network infrastructure components, including firewalls (e.g, Fortigate, Cisco ASA), routers, switches, and VPN technologies
- Hands-on experience with network security protocols (e.g., IPsec, SSL/TLS, VPNs)
- Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues, and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently
- Ability to create scripts to automate actions using PowerShell, bash scripting or Python
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills

What Is Preferred (a Plus To Have)
- Certifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CCNA Security, Microsoft (AZ-800, AZ-801), LPIC2 certification or CCNP
- Experience with VPN IPSEC or GRE Tunnels
- Experience with real HA environments
- Experience with observability stack frameworks
- Experience with k8s environments
- Experience with intrusion detection/prevention systems IDS/IPS and SIEM systems
