Network Engineer
Senior Network Engineer for UltraDDoS is responsible to analyze problems, gather requirements, design, and test DDoS protection solutions. This is an opportunity to participate in an industry- leading network security environment and solve today’s most demanding cyberwarfare challenges.
Basic Qualifications/Skills
- Develop scalable network designs, solutions, policies, and recommendations.
- Identify, research, and evaluate network related tools and emerging network technologies.
- Evaluate and test upgrades to network equipment such as routers and switches.
- Document new and existing network deployments according to standards.
- Drive revenue growth through the creative development of new products and services.
- Participate as network security Subject Matter Expert both internally and externally.
- Advise developers on automation necessary for network management & visibility.
- Advise support team to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Serve as mentor to the other engineering team members.
- Participate in rotating on-call schedule with several other team members.
- Provide third-tier support.
- 12+ years of network engineering in ISP/CSP environments
- 4 year college degree (BA or BS) or equivalent
- Expert level understanding of global Internet network architectures
- Extensive operational experience with carrier-class routers and switches from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Arista.
- Extensive operational experience with the BGP routing protocol and superior BGP routing protocol troubleshooting skills
- Experience with global Anycast service design and traffic engineering methods
- Experience with DDoS detection, attack analysis, and mitigation techniques
- Experience with network automation tools a plus.
- Experience with DNS traffic engineering a plus
- Must be able to work independently and be a self-starter
- Must have excellent written and communication skills
- Must demonstrate creative problem solving skills
