The joint venture brings together MTN Fintech’s deep market reach across Africa and Alipay’s global technology, platform and digital payments expertise to deliver a more resilient, innovative and future-fit fintech operating model.

As part of your portfolio as Manager: Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you will be responsible to.:
- Ensure the stability, reliability, performance and resilience of MIDAS core wallet services after go-live.
- Operate within the Infrastructure, Operations and Security function and provides hands-on reliability engineering, production support, observability, incident analysis, capacity planning, resource management, disaster recovery support and DevOps automation for business-critical wallet services.
- Participate in the design and development of SRE and DevOps tooling covering capacity planning, resource utilisation, disaster recovery, fault analysis, monitoring, alerting, operational dashboards and automated service health checks.
- Refine data-led operations by analysing availability indicators, historical incidents, resource utilisation, error trends, system bottlenecks and operational risk patterns, and converts these insights into practical reliability improvement initiatives.
- Capture operational best practices, providing input into architecture design and component selection, and producing clear technical documentation, runbooks and knowledge artefacts that improve supportability and operational readiness.
This is a Manager-level individual contributor role requiring deep technical troubleshooting capability, strong Linux and network fundamentals, programming or scripting skills, disciplined execution and the ability to communicate effectively under pressure in a multinational, partner-led fintech environment.
The incumbent must have the following:
- Minimum 4-year tertiary degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems or related field.
- Minimum 6–8 years’ experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, production support, IT operations, infrastructure operations or platform engineering.
- Experience supporting business-critical production systems in payments, banking, fintech, telecoms or large-scale internet platforms strongly preferred.
- Deep understanding of Linux systems, TCP/IP, HTTP and core network / computer architecture concepts.
- Experience with at least one programming or scripting language such as Java, Python, Go, Shell or equivalent, with ability to build tools that improve operational efficiency.
- Experience in monitoring, observability, capacity planning, resource management, incident analysis, disaster recovery and production readiness.
- Experience working in multinational, cross-border or partner-led delivery environments preferred.
- Good English communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.
