About Company: Our client is a startup network infrastructure company that specializes in providing managed services for infrastructure, network management, data integrations, and application management in Nigeria. The Company is known for its reputation for delivering high-quality service and ensuring customer satisfaction.

The company is seeking to hire a skilled Core Infrastructure Engineer who will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the business's managed WAN Services. The network comprises fiber, LTE, satellite, and Microwave infrastructure. The core infrastructure service function is to ensure that the network performs optimally at all times.

Job Functions:

• Management of the company’s Managed Services Network irrespective of delivery media.
• Management of Reporting (Availability, Throughput, Performance) and Analysis of these reports to determine actionable insights both for the business and the client base
• Liaisons with vendors of bandwidth and connectivity for testing and validation prior to completion of installation, commissioning and integration to client networks.
• Working with the Network Operations Center HelpDesk to ensure maximum network performance and quick identification of outages, performance issues, circuit degradation, and all other issues that impact network performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• He or she is expected to proactively manage the operation and maintenance of a highly resilient, scalable, and optimized Managed Services Environment for the business.
• He or she is expected to liaise with partners to ensure the smooth delivery of enterprise services, and intervene where necessary to optimize and improve services received from those partners.
• He or she is expected to ensure the alignment of Network Operations with any agreements or SLA’s entered into by the company, and ensure HelpDesk operations meet the SLA expectations of our clients
• He or she will be responsible for the production of daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly Availability and Performance Reports in conjunction with the Revenue Assurance Function of the company
• He or she is expected to work closely with the HelpDesk and the Project Team to ensure timely delivery of services, rapid remediation of outages and a high level of usability and reliability of the services the company offers.
• He or she is expected to work with the Team Lead Core Infrastructure to ensure that the network assets are optimized at all times for speed, resilience and resource profitability.

Key Requirements:

• HND/BSc Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology
• Professional Qualification - MIKROTIK MTCRE (MANDATORY), MIKROTIK MTCINE (PREFERRED), CISCO CCNP
• MPLS networks, VPLS & layer2/layer3 tunneling, UBNT radios, network sizing, traffic engineering, network optimization and reporting. Must be a strong team player

Key Performance Indicators:

• Engage in constant proactive Network Evaluation in order to optimize the network with respect to resource utilization, redundancy, resilience, and performance.
• Maximum Network Uptime and Minimum MTTR for all outages
• Detailed Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly Availability, Performance and Quality Reports
• Efficiency of services (i.e. network reliability) and categorization of all fault types and issues.
• Maintenance of Historical Data on faults and fault solutions for inclusion in a fault description and resolution document (Knowledge Base)
• Adherence to optimum deployment cycle time (to be minimized both financially and in duration) while ensuring any new services meet customer expectations and standards before commissioning and integration.
• Number of customers retained/lost on a monthly and quarterly basis
• Minimizing the financial impact of penalties applied by clients according to the SLA’s and contracts entered into by Sentient Networks
• Contribute a minimum of N20,000,000.00 (Twenty Million Naira) annually to Sentient Networks' sales revenue

General Expectations

• S/he is expected to comply fully with the policies and procedures of the organization
• S/he should expect that his or her employment terms and conditions shall comply with the relevant employment and labor laws and regulations
• He or she is expected to resume work on every working day of the month not later than 8 am and to close for the day not earlier than 5 pm of the same day. All relevant and approved break and allowance periods shall apply
• Based on the urgency of work assignments, the company might deem it necessary to request additional or lower working hours
• He or she is expected to carry out all assignments with professionalism, diligence, and ethical conduct.
• In addition, he or she is expected to comply with all the terms and conditions contained in the employee handbook or manual
